How do I edit Season Length?

Postby ppsantos on Sun Feb 06, 2005 6:05 am

I want to start the first year playing maybe 56 or 82 games then 28 games for the following years. Can I do this? What file do I need to edit? What editing software do I need to use for this purpose?

I couldn't change the season length in game after the first season was over. The option to change was not there in the "Dynasty Setting".

Hope someone knows the answers..

You need to select "custom schedule" when you start a new Dynasty.

imo you can't change it in the middle of your dynasty
gottta choose one in the beginning and all the seasons will be as long as the others...

Oops, mis-read your first post. Heiks is right, there's no way of changing season length once you start a Dynasty.

The dynasty file is one of the *.dat files, not *.dbf. If there's any program that could edit a dat file then that would probably work. Problem is , which one of those dat files in the save folder is it?

You can change .dat files by opening them with Notepad or a hex editor, but be sure to make backups. It's really easy to mess up the .dat files, same as the dbfs.

I cannot edit the *.dat files by opening them with Notepad. When I do, the page opens with lots of garbage characters. There must be some other program to edit the settings.dat or any other .dat files. What are hex editors? Can you give me an example?

You can pick one up at Download.com, you only need a simple one.
