How can you make a BRAND new viv file for the jersey preview screen. Everytime I add my new png to an already exsisting viv flie and edit the name , the game crashes. Thanx in advance for anyone who can help.

You need to hex edit the EBO file also. Read the "Tutorial How to change the jersey preview" by pontiacsilverdome. Then read the "Player Portrait Tutorial" by Kevin posted above. Look at step 14. You will have to modify the names at the end of the EBO file. I'll use the Dallas Mavericks 2003 Alternate Uniform for example, this is the new uniform (da_c03s). Use xx_c99h as the original. Extract the files from the original 'jerseys~xx~xx_c99h.big' file. Rename the four files and the big file. Open the 'da_c03s.ebo' file with a hex editor. Scroll to the botton. Replace EVERY occurence of 'xx_c99h' with 'da_c03s'. Don't change any other character. Save the file. Import back into jerseys~da~da_c03s.big. Press the 'rebuild' button 4 or 5 times. Copy the BIG file to the SGSM folder.

try using the NBA Portraits Editor made by MJ
you can import jersey portraits easily there
