Where has the scoring gone?

Postby ignatu on Thu Jan 20, 2005 8:52 am

Can anyone explain this.

I play locked on a point guard, and traded just about everyone for Kobe Bryant. The first two games he shot about 45%, when I got him the ball he drove in, hit jumpers, hit threes etc.

The next three games now he's shooting about 15%, never drives, just takes a jumper almost as soon as he gets the ball, or passes it away.

This is using the same set plays etc.

Any explanations?

why do you play live so robotic, mix it up.it sounds like you want to repeat the same action over and over again and get the same result.different teams factor in different results.

Scoring

I don't want to repeat the same action.

I use two primary play sets, it was Inside Triangle and Motion...not any specific one, just the general and let it pick.

The options on Inside Tirangle is to drive in and if clear, go for the layup or dunk, if met by a defender pass it out to the open permieter, or call for a pick and roll and either hit the pick player for an inside try, use the screen to get clear for a drive, or shoot a mid range jumper off the screen.

On Motion I try to hit Kobe as the first option, and in the first two games he'd either pass to an open player or do some moves, drive for a layup or dunk, or do a fadeaway. His first options for a pass usually were either the SF who would drive or take a jump shot, or back to me to reset for another play. Motion also gives me options to drive and pass to the PF or C, pass back out to the SF, or get to the FT line and call for a screen for a mid-range jumper or to hit the pick player for an inside try.

But now Kobe is just taking the ball, and usually going for an instant jumper, where before he'd make some moves, pass to open men, and sure hit a lot more of those jumpers.

Worse

Postby ignatu on Fri Jan 21, 2005 12:18 pm

It's getting worse. Now when Kobe gets the ball, about 50% of the time he'll run out of bounds, or throw up a layup that hits the side of the glass and goes out of bounds. He never dunks, only tries layups which are normally blocked.

WTF.

Change your plays. Do a play where Kobe runs high and pass the ball then. You can't expect Kobe to dunk if you pass him the ball when his is 20 feet away from the basket. If that doesn't work, trade him back to LA. Thats his way of saying he missed is girlfriends in Hollywood.

Just trying to help and bare in mind I don't really understand how your problem arise, why it arise, or how to fix it. It never happen to me.

Kobe

Postby ignatu on Fri Jan 21, 2005 9:09 pm

I have plays where Kobe gets it on the perimeter, and plays where he gets it underneath. He takes a good number of shots every game, but hits about 15% total.

On outside shots he's about 5% shooting.

Inside, even on a fast break, he always goes for a layup. Half the time he tries to lay it up and hits the side of the backboard, and then he either is blocked or just misses it.

The weird thing is the first two games he'd get the ball in the offense, take a jump shot and hit about 40%, or sometimes even drive in for a fadeaway or a dunk. Now he does none of that.

The point isn't always giving the ball to Kobe. The point is when he does get it and takes shots, he's hitting about 15%. His ratings are all high.

u should stop playing locked on pg becuase the cpu can be real unpredictable sometimes in this nba live 05 version
try to control all 5 dudes manually and u will probally get way better production from ur team
