Need some opinions on my graphic settings

Postby Solid Wing on Sat Jan 08, 2005 4:42 am

Ok I find when playing with lighting off the graphics look better, so I took screenshots with lighting on and off. I also posted my detail settings which I use all the time when playing regular games, and also when these screenshots were taken, I just want some opinions on what you think is better. Thanks

1) Detail Settings - If you wanna know my system specs just ask :)

3) 2nd Screenshot With Lighting On

4) 1st Screenshot With Lighting Off

As you can see I took screenshots of both home and away jerseys with lighting on and off.

lighting only justifies itself at the highest resolutions, if you play on 1024x768 or lower, you'll see white pixels instead of the light glow it is supposed to be...

if you play it on 1152x864 or lower it is. At least, it looks better. If you play at high res, 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 the lighting looks better imho.

Hi, can someone please give me an opinion??!??

I recently bought a toshiba satellite (celeron 2.8, 256mb, ati radeon mobility 7000) for business purposes. Now I've read a couple of times that someone was able to play live 05 even on a radeon card that is not "supported" (< radeon 8000). I was wondering if I possibly can play on my ati mobility radeon 7000. Anyone perhaps experiences or someone guessing whether it could work or not?

Thanx a lot

Thanks guys, helped a lot. Always nice to have some feedback. :?

If someone was interested at all, I couldn't wait, have finally bought the game and it runs - although choppy in a two-team game, for 1-on-1 and all-star weekend fine enough.

Anyone any idea where I can get drivers from so I can perhaps increase the performance? Come on, someone answer, this' supposed to be a live community.

latest drivers are only available from toshiba website, i doubt they will make a noticeable increase of speed.

as for no replies; if you have a question like this, it's wise to make a new post with a decent title.

Also you kinda answered the question yourself by stating it isn't supported.

And finally, you can't expect people to answer within 3hours... (i'm pointing to your first 2 posts), altough you're right about expecting at least one reply after 3 days

I read it Saturday but forgot to answer since I have no experience with toshiba laptops.

Thank you,

damn, so I have to live with playing 1-on-1 and slam-dunk contest.

And since the game runs although the card is not supported shows that I did not answer the question myself.
I was looking for guesses since a lot of people around here have a lot of knowledge about graphic cards and I wanted any guesses to better make up my mind. And to be quite honest, I just love this game even if I only get to play limited it's worth it.
It would just have been great to have some feedback.

and for that matter on creating a new thread: I think my Q was pretty on-topic in this thread so why not posting here and help keeping the forum concise.

you're Q wasn't on topic at all. this thread was for opinions about settings - lighting / no lighting. you're asking if your unsupported hardware will be able to run the game. that's a different topic.

enjoy the game, but be sure to try it out on a better computer if you have the chance too
