Help with dunks !

Postby Yowaan on Wed Jan 05, 2005 1:23 am

First off, Hi ! I´m new here but i´ve been playing Live since 96.. And i´m sorry if this topic already exists, i tried to search but didnt came up with anything..

Im playing with the Nets(Andrews 1.03 patch) and im having a really hard time to get Carter and Jefferson to do diffrent dunks, Carter almost only do this two-handed jam where he takes off with both feet, and Jefferson almost only do a one-hander.. Im able to pull off maybe about 6 or 7 dunks per game. But they are all the same... everytime.
Can someone please help me ?

Off topic: I´m from Sweden so my english might be a bit off

I get the same issue. I think certain players have specific dunks they do. One thing I have done tho it might just be in my mind is everytime I come from straight on I hit the left analog stick up as I press dunk and usually get a 360.

Try Dunking from different positions, if not try dunking with the turbo button and try it with the turbo button. I never get the same dunks unless i dunk from the same place.

When I play with Jefferson and Carter, they usually never do the same dunk twice in a row, and the dunk most likely depeneds on your positioning and whehter or not you used the turbo boost.

The sad part is I use Jason Richardson who has the highest dunk/jump rating in the game and most of the time I get a 2 hand tomahawk. Like I said, try hitting left analog up right as you hit the dunk button. I wanna know if it actually works or if its just a coincidence.

I think when you are not using the turbo boost, the dunks are better. I was just playing 1 on 1 the other day and i noticed that when i didnt use the turbo boost my player (Julius Erving) made more flashy dunks. I think turbo boost has some part in different dunks.

I think if a dunker with a 90+ dunks in the traffic, they will do a two-handed tomahawk dunk. If he dunks on a fast break, it depends on the position he takes off from.

That seems about right actually ! But i would like more variety on the dunks.. A player like Carter has a wide repetoar of dunks but if he dunks in traffic he only does this twohanded tomahawk(in game) .. When it should be a diffrent kind of dunk ..

Hope i made myself understood :-)

Yeah, the two-handed tomahawk dunks can be boring, I prefer in Live 2004 where the players do a one-handed tomahawk dunk, just to get blocked from behind  .
