Suns Playing Style

I am playing with the Suns, and I am really having a hard time getting the running game going. I manage to score well in the half court (Nash Drive and dish mostly, along with Amare's post ups); however, I do want to get a real running game going. Can anyone help me get the Suns playing like the Suns?

Everybody is having trouble with running games. See your teams Strategics to see how they play. Some Are fast break. others Half Court. Some are both. Same with defense. edit the .dbfs if you want fast Break to go up some more or change the CPU's Defenesive Sliders so you can keep teh break going.

Like my post about the rockets, leave your team strategy in its default of dynamic, then assign your plays on the last 3 of the quick plays. Your team will run, i have no problems even making the spurs and detroit play a running game, and they're half court teams. So when your cross the half court line, call your plays, other than that your team will run. And if your using the PS2 like me, use L1 to pass down court, for a fast break

What do you mean plays other than that your team will run?
Specifically, what plays do you use?

how does this make sense? ur saying that if u set the last 3 plays in ur quick plays to certain plays, then the team will run on fastbreaks? so even if u dont call a play, wen u get a rebound, u can pass it up and get a fastbreak going jus like that? how does the quickplays affect that

Backwards bro, If you set your team strategy to a different play aside from dynamic, your team will not fast break! They will run up the court in their offensive set. the same as if you set your top or first quick play, by default your team will follow either your team strategy or a changed first quickplay, try it and see.

So what I'm saying is when your team strategy is dynamic, your team will have an easier time fast breaking cause they will not run up the court waiting for each other becuase they want to be in their set when they get up the court.

What they will do is they will run up the court and let each individual players offensive rating dictate where they go. Like shaq and yao will run a break and end up getting postion in the key somewhere or spot shooters will get position at the line.

Now for the rest. If you have a runner, just use turbo to get him up the court, or T-mac, run him up the court, pro hop, easy fast break? get it?

i get it. i thought u were sayin that changing the quickplays miraculously cures fasbtreaks, lol. yea i play as the suns, and i get fastbreaks. not all the time, prolly not even as much as the real suns, cause they fastbreak basically every possession... but i do get some easy dunks. its better this way then 2004, cause then if i get 1 fastbreak, then quentin richardson is ALLL ALLLLONE by the hoop and can do a 360 or something. then its so much cooler then if that happens every possession.

if u go offball u can get a fastbreak eery time. jus sprint up and pass to that guy. or jus u gotta pass it perfectly while the guy is running upcourt.OR SOMETIMES DONT PASS UPCOURT, SPRINT UPCOURT DRIBBLING. then find the open man wen ur up there, a lot of times ull find the open 3

Yup! hehe, I pretty much use all the teams but the suns are one of my favorites when I feel like playing an uptempo game.

But don't you find it hard on defense, they don't have a strong inside presence with their new line up, amare at center and all...

Suns - Pffttt. Pitiful, Killed em with my l33b Knicks. Then Killed them with the Heat, then 76ers, Then Seattle, Then Spurs. (multi team dynasty.) Killed em in everygame with a 10+ Lead.... Loosa.

But i put my Fastbreak to like 99 So its past the Middle Lan and all the way to the side on some teams, but i have a weak bench so they get tired quicker =(

dude who cares if u can beat a team wit the comp. first of all, joe johnson should be rated 70 overall, not 64. 2nd of all joe johnson comes off the bench unless u changed it. and y r u bragging about ur skills.

id like to play u online, id like to take u down and shut ur big mouth up

i dont hav pc but im gettin xbox live. if u hav xbox then play me. if not go to a frends house and play me once i get it. its over for u. i was good in live 2004 for pc.

I can run "fast breaks" almost all the time. It's in quotes because it's not a fast break recognized by the game (in the sense that you can throw passes where players catch in mid-stride). Just play good defense, grab the rebound, and IMMEDIATELY when you touch the ball on the rebound, pass it up the court to your front-most player, and turbo/freestyle down the court and keep the ball moving through passes if necessary, and get a quick shot or dunk. If you're quick enough, you can run in the open court or have a 1-on-1/3-on-3 situation. This works even better if the opponent's PG or SG drives into the paint, misses, and the defender stays outside, making him free to run if you give him the ball.

Just like in real life, an uptempo game flows from good defense and rebounding. This "fast break" doesn't look pretty, but it's the closest I can get to simulating a real fast break.
