PC Coach Mode???

Postby cwadley on Sun Dec 12, 2004 11:21 am

Hi,

I haven't played an NBA Live game since, well, ever. (I did play Lakers v. Celtics back in the day, however.) At any rate, I am interested in purchasing NBA Live 2005 for the PC, but I would first like to know whether there is any "coach mode" option for the game. Basically, I'm not interested in "playing" each game in the video-game sense of the word, but I'd like to be the GM of a franchise and "coach" each game, such as setting starting lineups, making substitutions, and perhaps setting strategies/plays. Please let me know if NBA Live 2005 for the PC can do this. Thanks!!!!

the dynasty mode is very in depth- lots of managing to do. as far as just 'coaching' the game, sure you can do that. you just set both controllers to neutral and the cpu will play as both teams. when you want to make a change, just slide the controller over to your team, and continue. or i imagine you could put player lock on the last scrub on your bench, then he'd never be subbed in- you wouldn't have to switch the controller every time that way.

The first option will most likely be your best bet. With player lock you lock onto a position and not a specific player. If you lock onto the PG spot whomever is in the game at that position will be controlled by you. It'd be neat if you could lock onto one player and just have to watch the game when you were on the bench.

oh my bad. i've never used player lock. i thought it was for an individual player. well anyway- 2005 is well worth it- even if you want tojust sim through seasons and manage the team (Y)
