Pacers roster stand at 17

Hey you're surely aware that thanks to Artest's high IQ, 3 Pacers are suspended for at last 25 games (Artest was awarded 72 games). To fill the gap, Pacers signed Tremaine Fowlkes (#3) and Britton Johnsen (#32). That makes the Pacers roster stand at 17 while every version of NBA Live can only support 15 players.
As the roster updater of Live 2000 & 2004, I've got, like Andrew, a problem

Ben, of .org, simply ignored O'Neal and Jackson suspensions, put Artest or IR, and did not add Britton Johnsen on the roster. That pushes Reggie Miller out of the IR, as the IR list can only support 3 players. I don't really like that solution cause even if Britton Johnson will certainly have no impact on the team I want him to be on the roster.

Putting the suspended players on the free agency wouldn't be a good idea too, as when starting a Dynasty another team would sign them. And putting them on the Legends Pool would make them unavailable for a Dynasty.

So, according to you, which is the best solution?

hmmmm

Just put Jermaine O(h You Idiot), Ron Con, Stephen Jiggly J on the IR List. Sign Tremaine Fowlkes (since hes better than Britton Johnsen) and put him on the active roster.

Thats my suggestion :D

Err... And where do I put Reggie Miller, Jonathan Bender and Jeff Foster who are normally in the IR? :o

you kinda missed the point there, najira

That makes the Pacers roster stand at 17 while every version of NBA Live can only support 15 players.

I also planned to place the suspended players on the injured roster and move the injured players to the final three roster spots. The problem with removing the suspended players from the rosters (ie placing them on Team 38) is that they won't be available from there on in the Dynasty - they will be wiped upon starting a new Dynasty game. Likewise, placing the Pacers' injured or suspended players in the Free Agent pool isn't a feasible option.

I think I'm going to have to go with the suspended players on the IR solution leaving Johnson and Fowlkes as free agents. It's not ideal, but NBA Live 2005 just can't support the roster moves that the incident instigated. Unless of course, another solution can be found.

Hmm a good addition to the wishlist, allow signing of free agents (eg 10 day contracts) when injuries/players do idiotic things (y)

Injury exceptions would make things a lot easier, yes. The game could then be easily manipulated for scenarios such as the Pacers/Pistons incident.

and what about a special version of the roster "suspended pacers". Just release a new version with the fools on the Legends list, because playing with the Pacers with only role players could be challenging :) Then, when O'Neal and Jackson will be back, release a new adjusted version :)

I pretty like that one :)

I could do that. The only problem is that that version wouldn't really be suitable for Dynasty Mode long-term.

Actually, I brought Anthony Johnson off the IR, and left Bender off the IR. Johnson was brought off anyway, but he's suspended. And the Pacers hadn't moved Bender to the IR (despite his being injured) when I packaged for release. No one should want Britton Johnsen on any roster.

I suggest Andrew do the same thing (OMG THIEF!!! ) but I'd decide which is more likely first, Bender coming back from a "sore knee" (was expected to be out six weeks, almost two weeks ago now...) or Reggie Miller gnawing the cast off his broken hand.

And alex, you're a roster maker, you know how to take the guys off and put on whoever you want! Why are you complaining! :D

Argh, Pacers just signed #2 Marcus Haislip now that Austin Croshere and Jamal Tinsley are injured.

Sounds like good advice to me. Thanks Ben. :)
