What players do YOU want in your dynasty?

Postby Donatello on Thu Nov 11, 2004 2:09 pm

I thought it would be cool if we had a thread to discuss different players' worths in Dynasty Mode.

I'll start off by saying that in my first off-season, I plan on trying to acquire two players. Andrei Kirilenko and Ben Gordon.

AK47 is a defensive beast and really is pretty good offensively as well. I can forsee offering up Richard Jefferson in order to get him. (I would more than likely be playing kirilenko at PF, maybe even some center against smaller teams)

I'm very impressed with Ben Gordon's performance in the first All-Star weekend in my Nets Dynasty, he won the Slam Dunk contest, and beat Allan Houston 1-on-1...and I played with him alot in the Rookie/Sophomore game, and he is such a great overall player, it's hard to not want to go after him. I'm thinking that a deal involving Jason Kidd wouldn't be out of the question....but I would undoubtedly have to take some bad contracts and baggage from the Bulls to make it work....but since I planned on my created player taking over for Kidd at some point anyway, why not sooner?

I'd like some feedback on my 2 possible trades, as well as your guys' thoughts on who YOU might go after.

I like the Kirilenko trade, as far as Ben Gordon goes maybe you could try and get someone else off them aswell (Chandler, Deng etc) just to even it up.

Why not Garnett for my dynasty  ?
I should trade some guys like Rasho and co...
I've got a good PG, Parker, I don't want to change, he's my favorite :D .
I like Manu so I won't change.
Maybe Bowen, he's kinda bad sometimes...

seeing as others are naming the better players of the league i will name a couple of role players i love. keep in mind i started a celtics dynasty and have since quit and used the cats, so i have not used alot of the players. anyway i think i will go after both battie and mccarty again if i ever do another dynasty down the road(sticking to the cats for a long time now). i have found that mccarty can score alot of points without taking a ton of shots, they seem to come with the flo if you know what i mean. i know i have talked about him in other posts but this guy has been gold for me. as for battie he is great at getting to the glass. also his speed helps him get alot of easy buckets from the right pass of a pg. these 2 i will always want.

a couple other players that i think performed better than there overall rating. ricky davis and dwight howard. i was set to trade davis from the start but after a few games useing him i called him a keeper. as for howard i will take him over okafor anytime in this game. after useing both i like howard alot more.

remember i only mentioned players i have used, as for a player i want to get. well i have been trying to nab the starting backcourt for the bulls and i just cant do it. i will continue to persue these 2 in the years to come.

If Bowen wouldn't be so old, he'd be my main target for perimeter-defense. Great combination between 3pt-shooting when open and stopper-abilities. Boris Diaw or Pietrus could be as good as him someday.

AK47 is great and Darrell Armstrong a perfect pointguard (ok, he's too old). I'm also impressed by Dwight Howard. His nba live stats are little overrated in scoring but great :)

In my games that I've played, Bibby, Garnett, Jefferson and Pierce usually killed me.

Blocking & Stealing is pretty powerful in this game, so guys like Kirilenko who can do both are gods.

Donyell Marshall is like an old bald Kirilenko, but HoopsHype.com says Yell is the most underrated player in the game, and he just dropped 12 3's on Philly, so maybe it's all accurate after all.

Tyson Chandler has Kirilenko-like defense, more height, and way too much speed.

I was also kinda surprised at how effective Cliff Robinson still was at his age.

I got Rodney Rogers, did an edit to give him long socks, and he was re-rated from 66 to 72. Must be the socks. I also like Rodney White as a project. What can i say, i like 3 point shooting forwards named Rodney.

Josh Smith is interesting because of what looks like a typo...his Steal rating is 84 (i think that's supposed to be his block rating). But right now he can pickpocket any forward in the game.

And among bottom level ~50 rated players, check out Chris Andersen. 90 dunk, very high jump, very high shot blocking.

I'd like to get Korver just because his 3 pt shot is so smooth.

Who I'd like to have on my team someday?

KG
Bryant
Joe Johnson
Tony Parker

Never played with any of them, so that might be ...fun?

But my favorite player in the game is Telfair, so that would be the one.
