about signing free agents....

is it possible for a team way above the salary cap(-20.5 mil....) sign a free agent... i tried it once but a message from my PDA told me that we cannot sign free agents because we are above the salary cap...

If they are willing to sign for the minimum, you should be able to get them. Teams over the cap can only sign free agents to minimum contracts. (in real life you would have two exceptions to use, but those are not implemented in NBA Live yet).
Mind you, I do not have the game yet, so I am not sure if you are encountering a bug or just tried to sign players for more money than the minimum.

yeah, you can sign players for the minimum even if you're over the salary cap.
