games in a season

Postby Sauru on Sat Sep 18, 2004 6:48 am

just a curiosity(sp?) question really. how many games do you guys play in a season? also do you play every game? like if you pick 82 do you actually play 82? and if you do how many minute quarters do you use? i ask cause before this year i always played the min amount of games( 29 if i recall ) but this year it looks like i am gonna have to bite the bullet and play a 82 game season. now i never simmed a game before and i always play 12 minute quarters so thats why i always pick 29 games, so i could play through multiple seasons. i am just trying to get a few suggestions on how you guys play to see how it would be if i altered my style a bit. do we get points for simming a game(for traing/scouting and so forth)? does simming games mess up your stats to much?

anyway like i said just curious to see how you guys play your dynasty out.

I play 56 games a season at 8 minute quarters, even though i haven't even finished a season yet.

i play a 82 season dynasty, but i dont play all the games, otherwise the stats would be messed up

I'm confused. Why do you have to bite the bullet? Is EA removing the option to chose the length of your season? If so, are they trying to piss us off?

They're not removing the option to choose the length of the season, Sauru's just curious to see how many games ppl play.

Then why did he say he has to bite the bullet?

to earn enough points to be able to scout players and train my team. i was just thinking that if i played a short season i would not have enough points to do everything i need to.

I think you can scout players without earned points. And I think I'm willing to sacrifice the marginal training rating increases for a 29 season game.

yeah if i can earn enough points in my typical 29 game season to scout players(i heard you needed points to do so hense the concern) then i will just play that still, with my 12 min quarters. reason i like the short season is i like to play multiple seasons. the more the better infact. i also like playing 12 min quarters so everyone gets playing time on my team and i hate simming games. i like the stats to show what i have done not what the comp has done for me.

Same here. I don't think I've ever simmed a game in a franchise that I was serious about. I also play short seasons so I can get multiple years in. That's where the fun is at. Whether your team is the same except for a rookie, or you change up all 12 guys. Offseason is the greatest.

that does remind me. i usually sim alot of different franchises with madden. i mean i play my main one and run a simmed one for each team and see how i did with who. ok i admit it, i am a stat junkie, so i write down a bunch of stats for each team i play. if i get fired i stop right there, i dont chance teams.

i never did this with nba live cause to be honest the dynasty was not good enough to bother. i could easily make a team with the same players no matter what team i started as. this year i might do this though. run my celtics then when i get kinda tired of the playing i will just run a sim dynasty with each team and see how i do with each.

I set it for 82 games
Simulate over half of the games
And play them all in the playoffs, on best out of 3 series
I am a very impatient person as you can tell :D (Y)
