I have a question about the new nba live... I had live 2004 and had max settings and it looked damn good. I have a geforce 64mb card that came with my pc. For those with better cards, like the ATI radeon 9800 ( a card im thinking of getting), how much of a difference is it compared to cards like mine...
Sports games dont seem to need that much memory to run well.

How do you think live 2005 will run on a basic 64mb card that I have compared with those with the better cards... Anybody have screenshot comparisons, to intice me to buy a new card...

ps.. i only really play sports games, like nba live, or fifa on my pc.

I was on the same boat, I think you should be fine. I just got the ATI X800 Pro but then returned it for the Geforce 6800 GT OC. I love it!

ALL in ALL you should be fine, the 9800 is a good card though.

like, im not THAT big of a pc gamer, with games like doom and stuff or even action rpgs,, etc.... so for me to get anything HIGH end is just worthless IMO.
But if it will DRASTICALLY improve live 2005, than I might take the 200 dollar plunge... but then again live 2004 looked 3 times better than the console version on my 64 mb card.

Looking at this stat. Image
you see that I may a very low tier card..

I have a 32MB card..so the graphics look really bad in Live 04...I mean the graphics dont really bother me...I dont mind if they even looked like the LIVE 03 faces(maybe better body shapes n accessories) ..

but I dont think u should have a big prob with a 64 MB...though I have no personal experience to go by

Hey dog.

Well funny you should say, coz today i bought myself a radeon 9800 pro, and a bigger power supply to run it (which is dam loud).
The 9800 is a good card, ive noticed differences in all my games so far. Prior to this i had a 9200, 128mb card, which still ran live 2004 fine on max settings.
One of the reasons i upgraded was coz the system requirements for 2005 said a direct x 9 level card or something........ which the 9200 isn't truely. So i got the 9800 pro now to cover me... but like you... im not a fan of Doom etc, tho I just played it on ultra settings and it ran fine.

The sad thing is, i'm not a big PC gamer too(Madden, Live, Tiger Woods, TopSpin)--I just wanted to upgrade my PC and got caught up in the mix. Oh well--better to have too much than too little.

Good luck Wally, I've heard good things about the 9800 PRO. Go to www.newegg.com , they should have some nicely priced ones there.

Thanks guys.. thats a perfect birthday gift for myself.. and if i start saving up now I can pitch in on the present and get a better one maybe the 9800xt.

Are you planning on selling your old 9200?

I can buy it via paypal or something from you, unless youve already returned it/sold it

I dont really want anything above 180 bucks and at newegg, the
ATI RADEON 9600XT is around 164 plus shipping... but the 9200 isnt that bad either.
