Rookies

Postby Mark. on Thu Sep 09, 2004 5:17 pm

I was just reading the interview over at IGN, and Tim said that the rookies that are gonna be drafted are created during the current season so you can scout them, do you rekon this means we can edit them to change them to real rookies??

There must be a way considering how they make the dbf's accessible to us users.

I would think that they wouldn't change the accessibility as Live has quite a solid fan base that enjoys modding the game to some extent...

I think that the rookies can be modified to represent the real core of rookies in the next draft.

And I really hope that the rookies will be more realistic than before... 2004 was a step in the right direction, but still most of the rookies were just too darn slow. And there were basically no centers with speeds over 50 in the draft ever.

I hope they get it right this time...

Has anyone seen that pic with projected 1st overall pic? And other potential draftees? A bunch of 6'1-6-'3 SGs with 215 pounds . Very realistic indeed.

There's probably a good chance we'll be able to edit the rookies for the PC version through DBF editing, though I'm doubtful the console version will provide a means of editing their names and bio data.

At least they got realistic rookies...

like a 7'5" guy every 10-12 years... maybe some short freak too....

And some guy in ten years time who has potential to become the next MJ...

I read that article... and u can scout players from all over the world! hooray! international players!

Exactly. Maybe this will be the year where we'll be able to stomach looking at our draft picks.

We should be able to create-a-rookie and put him into a 'country' so we can scout him and then draft him, but we wouldn't be able to make their ratings too high, and other teams can draft him too if they get a better pick than you. And you should be able to just edit all the rookies through the game and not through dbf so others who don't know how to do it can edit their rookies.
