Dunk Contest Practice

Postby Donte Thomas on Thu Aug 12, 2004 6:11 am

For the dunk contest, how many of you guys are going to be practicing the dunk contest before entering the all-star weekend in your dynasty. I know I am, cause when i show my screens for the dynasty and all star weekend, i want my dunks to be SICK!
*creepy laugh* hahahahahahahahahhahaha!

It wouldn't be wise to go into a dunk contest in Dynasty mode without some practice. You'd either have to not really want to win or just up for a huge challenge. (Although it'll be quite a stupid challenge.)

I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm not going to go into the dunk contest before hand. Meaning, I'm going to try (note, I said try!!) and wait till I've actually gotten to the all-star game in my dynasty. This way I'll have the insentives to keep me interested. At the day of the All Star game, I'll just save...exit & practice. When I feel I'm stable enough to kick some ass, I'll play it. If I lose that'll make it all the more interesting for the next year.

Oh, I rambled a bit, didn't I? Hihihi, excitement.

Yes, I'll practice my dunks before competing in the dunk contest. (If I'm admitted that is.)

It would be my luck i'd get invited to the dunk competition and get injured or something  :( you would probably still be able to do it.......but wouldnt it be cool to get injured IN the dunk competition :D maybe hit your head on the rim and get a concusion or a brain hemorage and have to be rushed out on a stretcher :) :D

I might spend too much time playing the dunk contest before starting a new Dynasty and exploring the rest of the game, but it is new so I won't be waiting for an invitation in Dynasty Mode.

Now I'd do what Wormy10 said and rather be invited to the All-Star Game and dunk contest cause who know's it might go to waste. Or maybe it won't. But it still can. No, i'm good at Live, i'll get invited. but what about just in case. Uhhhhhhhhh. *cursing at myself* Omg, i'm lost.

Actually, it is relevant. Just because you don't care to take part in discussions where people talk about what they plan to do with the new modes or what they plan to do with the game doesn't mean it's irrelevant or that nobody else cares.

Yeah man, no doubt. I'm actually looking forward to it. I've been waiting for a dunk contest since Lakers vs. Celtics and by george, I'm going to play it into the ground!.........

It would be hard to go into allstar weekend without having practise. Especially when you just play the game. The Dunk Contest would be "harder than you think". I would practise it over and over again to get the hang of it.

Can't wait for the release!

I think everybody will go practice to some extent. I mean, playing through the Dynasty, getting invited, and you can't even do a simple dunk? I'd at least want to be able to do something... I'll start with the basics, then I'll play, and let the rest of the game come to me.

I am going to practice. I think it's going to be the first thing I do when I turn on the game. Does anyone know if the dunk contest is online? This way we could have some serious battles!!!

No the dunk contest mode won't be online. I read it in one of those preview articles.
