Greatest NBA game is Yet to come.

I think EA Canada, ESPN, and Sony, should hook up and make a biggest and a greatest NBA game project. We know some companies do better on certain things than others, like graphics, game plays, and etc... Sony is one of the well respected company; Grand Turismo Serise.

So, Why don't they Do this? If money is the only ithing thats holding them back, make it $79 per game. We have the technology to bring the current nba games to next level. we just need to work together. i know they will sell millions all over the world. Us, buyers will be happy and they will be happy.

Wouldnt you want to buy a game that has all the nba Live Features and Graphics like New streetball vol 3 or esnp 2k5? not to mention, with Sony's new 3d crowd and newly smoothed out game plays.

What do you think.

the sad truth is if they all merged the product would actually get worse. sure they would come out with 1 kick ass game but every game after that would be them resting on thier laurels. the bean counters would step in after the first game and lay off half the staff is not more and the remaining people who sit back knowing there was no other nba game to even challenge them. good idea but in this world just would not happen.

I really think it can be done. Im not asking them to merge into one big corp. This could be their one year project for "FANS". We deserve it after spending all our money buying games... i'm sure they can figure something out. plus, if you dont know anything about programing, its not that hard to work around the choosen source codes. further more, they wont be laying off people left and right over on project. Agree?

It will not work... this would create a monopoly in the NBA gaming market and that would increase price and decrease quality (just look up "Gates, William" and "Microsoft")

Think about it. If it were only one NBA game, then there is nothing left if that game has flaws. Not that I have to chose (in Romania the only NBA game to be found is NBA Live), but for you guys out there, there will be nothing left and nothing to do if you don't like that particular game.

Look, i've graduated from college with computer science and business. I dont know why you wouldnt agree with the idea.

Monoply? did i asked them to merge into one big corp? and do you really think over a one project game would creat a mass jobloss? do you really think such project would stop sales of other games? it wont. it is just like two or more differnt musicians working together to produce next 'hit'. nothing more. if you dont know how this business world works, plz dont try to enlighten me.

however, i'm not trying to explain how business works, but rather sharing my thoughts on 'how greatest game can be produced'. plus, you know its a good idea, you just dont know what to do with it but act like 'i thought about it but monopoly this and that, blah blah blah.'

people, i know we are all hyped about 2005 (truth me, i am too), but nothing is impossible, remember that. someday you might thank me to make this happen.

If they were to do this the games would not be as good as they possibly could make it because they will have no competetion. Why would they have to make it so much better if there is no one trying to beat them.

You probly heard someone saying, 'competition' makes quality products... which is somewhat true (20%) but 80% is BS. 'Competition' shapes our mind to be 'greedy' and 'selfish'. 'competition' do not allow you to share thoughts with your fellow competitor... and most of you are brain washed to believe that theres nothing wrong with it. and for all you 'Money lovers' -sigh- Someday, we will run outta things to sell and things to make money with. next thing you know, you are trying to sell 'air/oxygen' look, we were born into this world, we didnt make it, but people are so quick to sell lands and etc. all that 'money money' kills ture human identiy.

anyway, so 'Working together' For Once seems to be a bad idea to most of you. I dont know why you all would complain when you will get to have best nba game.

well if your running a business (meaning your after money)...competition is to get you ass up to work...maybe if those companies are making basketball videos for let's say for the good of mankind or something than helping each other out would be better...

besides, you don't really need some thought sharing when one company can just try to copy some feature the other company has...thats what happened with sega and the isomotion...they felt threatened by ea's freestyle and tried to make a copy of it (but they didn't do too well with that) and competition was the reason that ea started trying to make live better when sega's 2k series came along and tried to give them a run for their money...

In the high-tech business (let's consider videogames high-tech..) parternship and alliances are pretty common, the main reason being the possibility to join resources and dominate a market that a company alone couldn't dominate.

There are however several risks involved:

- Loss of trade secret: never forget that a psrtner maybe be out to disarm the other.

- potential leakage of information: one partner learning skills and knowledge from the other. This is by far the greatest risk in joint product development.

- Partnership (altough different from merges or acquisitions) face legal issues and antitrust probabation as well. Any partnership that has potential to directly or indirectly affect pricing is of great concern. And in our case it would affect pricing.

I just don't see this idea as feasible. Not to mention that probably the software houses involved make more money by launching their own product rather then sharing profits with others.

I also graduated with a degree in business and marketing. It was actually an MBA (useless so far... )
