PC version DOES NOT have 10-man motion capture

Postby dave374 on Fri Nov 14, 2003 5:30 am

It has new animations, but it does not have 10-man motion capture. It's instantly noticeable if you've been playing the console version of the game. That's a real shame, because 10-man mo cap is amazing.

The graphics also seem a bit washed out (1.8 amd, geforce 4 4200, 512 ram, win xp pro)

Look at the box - improved animations, not 10 man mo-cap.

My video card is fine. I just think the graphics are a little washed out. Too much light at centre court.

I'm not a Live hater. I have the ps2 version and just bought the pc version. I love the ps2 version for the 10 man mo-cap, and it seems harder. So far, the pc version definately does not have 10 man mo-cap (because too many guys are just standing around) and the game isn't as hard as the ps2 version.

I would prefer the pc version to be superior, because I love my pc and the downloads.

Don't confuse the 10 man freestyle with 10 man mo-cap, they're different. Like I wrote, just play the ps2 version and the pc. In the ps2, guys don't just stand around.

*)They cant put everything on the box (It doesnt mean its not there.
I have been playing the pc since yesterday. There is 10man mo-cap there.
They dont stand around. they move around, call for the ball, cut and set screen without u setting up plays.

I am pretty sure there is not much coding difference between ps2 and pc.

You can adjust that if its too bight.

Pc version is superior, but thats just my own opinion

10-man freestyle is just EA's name for 10-man Mo-Cap. (Like Air freestyle for the ability to alter your shot.)

I sure hope you're right. I just got the game and have only been playing for about an hour, but it's noticeably different than the ps2 version I have been playing for three weeks or so.

Like I wrote earlier, I really do want the pc version to be as good (or superior). The updates alone make it worth the purchase price.

Speaking of updates - has anyone seen an updated roster yet?

The PC game makes it seem like a lot of players just stand around though :(.

Um, apparently you guys don't know much about video game production. The PC version and the PS2 version will be identical, for the most part...the only differences will be that the the PC version will be slightly more refined in a few areas. In order to have something so drastically different in something like the motion capture, EA would have to make an entirely different engine, something that they don't have time for, nor could they afford to make a new engine for a game that doesn't sell nearly as much as the console version...

Hope that makes sense...

The odds are that your processor and video card isn't up to snuff, or you're playing it on a lower difficulty level...

exactly what he said lol. But yes the PC and PS2 are basically Identical. The Game Engines are the exact same in most areas. You would have to change the Engine to take out that feature.

Also I got a P4 3.0 GHZ with HT and a Nvidia 5200 with 2 GBs of ram and well the game runs better then the PS2 one lol. This game is the shit.

Why do you need 2GBs of ram ??????

You should get a better video card instead.... the 5200 blows
