Trading Picks?

Has anyone gotten it to work? If so, when do you trade them. I haven't been able to work a deal for a pick yet and it is pretty annoying. The teams always say they aren't interested in doing deals involving picks at that time.

When you want to do the trade do you just press start?

no. You press square(if on ps2) and a prompt comes up asking if you want to confirm the trade, compare players, or cancel.
