Did anybody notice yet...

Postby EGarrett on Fri Oct 24, 2003 9:09 am

...that you can't replay end of game buzzer beaters? The Instant Replay function being disabled on the post game screen and all...

...that the Edit bug that drops a player's rating is still there?

...that now sometimes it randomly ups a player's rating?

...what your player does when you tap up on the Freestyle stick repeatedly?

...what your player does when you tap down on the Freestyle stick repeatedly?

...what a cool little feature those last two things are?

...All the things that your EA bio keeps track of?

...how cool it looks when you drive out of a step-back move?

...that you can use the lob shot feature to basically throw a self Alley-Oop pass or a dunk in practice mode?

...how much Jason Kidd looks like Stone Cold Steve Austin?

...how awful Darius Miles and Michael Jordan's cyberfaces are now?

...how great Yao Ming's cyber face is?

...how cool Magic looks in his 86 Lakers uni?

...how cool Dominique looks in his 86 Hawks uni?

...how easy it is to rack up Dynasty points by making sure every player on your team scores?

...how great it is to control the inbounds player now when making inbounding passes at the end of games?

...how you might actually want to throw a nice pass to an open person once you get into the lane?

...how cool it is to be able to finally use sliders in Live?

...how cool it is that they actually managed to make a video game play like real basketball?

Not sure if that's a bug or not, but the same goes for Madden 2k4.

I hit a game winning field goal after the buzzer that hit the post and went through. I wanted to save a replay, but the Instant replay was dubbed off.

Ughh.

could you elaborate on this please... do all legends in 50-90 allstar teams have their retro unis from the teams they used to play in (nba street style), or do they still wear those crappy generic 50-90 allstar team jerseys (like in previous incarnations of NBA Live)?

They wear the crappy generic stuff until you can unlock more stuff in the nba store. It can only be used in 1 on 1 and practise though (correct me if im wrong someone).

Once the buzzer goes off you're screwed...instant replay is disabled...

Hey EGarret, since some of us don't have the game, can you kinda answer your questions? Especially what lob shot button?? and self alleyoop??

When you hit the dunk button from far back...the player lobs the ball at the hoop. Do that...turbo to the basket and hit jump when the ball comes off the rim. Guys like Vince and Kobe can catch it off the rim and dunk it back. It's almost like a dunk contest dunk...

could you elaborate on this please... do all legends in 50-90 allstar teams have their retro unis from the teams they used to play in (nba street style), or do they still wear those crappy generic 50-90 allstar team jerseys (like in previous incarnations of NBA Live)?

The 90's All-Star Team wears the 90's All-Star jerseys that they used to wear during the NBA All-Star games. The 80's Team wears the older 80's All-Star East and West (East home, West Away) jerseys. These are the exact same jerseys that were worn at last season's All-Star game.

You have to unlock the other retro jerseys. Then when you put a player from the legend pool onto the team (Nique on the Hawks etc)...and when you play a game with Hawks or if you use him in practice or 1-on-1 you can pick the appropriate jersey...

I dont think you can unlock the jerseys in the store. I havent played with anyone yet besides the 2003 all star teams. They do have authentic unis.

Oh yes...and when the pc version (hopefully its even better than the console versions) officially comes out I will make sure I give my props to the producers for obviously trying hard this year. This is just the second year I think since they revamped the game and it seems to now be the best game out there. Sure Ive had my problems with the game engine and the little intangibles like graphics etc. that could make this game so much greater but I guess thats what progress is for. Cant wait till the pc version comes out. You know J kidd wont be looking like stone cold then

But hasn't it always been the same?
They revamp the game which looks all so nice graphically but comes with lots of bugs. The second year, they fix a thing or two and now it looks like they are just a year away from a perfect game. And then, boom, they revamp the game again and all these new bugs come up...

Not with the ball...when you're on defense in a game.

Your player does two 'taunts.' One is raising his arms like Allen Iverson telling the crowd to stand up. That's tapping up. When you tap down, the player gets in his defensive stance and gives the "come on" hand motion to the guy he's guarding.

They are not actual taunts right? They just look kinda like taunts and look same as live 2003 right?

Yep. It happened to me before. You can reorder your rosters and when your player heals up he'll automatically go back into the starting lineup, so you dont have to put him back manually.

Did anyone notice the camera behind the backboard.......
