Discussion about NBA Live 2004.
Fri Oct 17, 2003 5:50 am
Now there are people thinkin that NBA will be released in a few months. They say that will happen the same like with Live 2003. But last year's NBA Live had difficulties with rights or something. Is there any chance that the same can happen this year???
Does anyone know what is the supposedly date of PC version release? I mean people guess and talk about it. There's some true in their talks.

We're hearing rumors, and we don't know the exact truth since EA haven't said anything about the PC version. All we're hearing are potential dates from gaming sites that it'll be out on the 4th or the 11th of November, or earlier, or later. We don't know.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm used to getting NBA Live for PC in November, or for Christmas. As long as I can remember, The PC edition has always come out in November, except for 2001, which came out in like January or Feb 2001. I don't mind the wait either, and it may mean that they are adding final touches, and maybe even additions to it. You never know.

I will be happy if the game comes out until the end of the year since we PC gamers are not their primary target. They think first about the console gamers and only after them they give the PC gamers a little attention.Console games for them give money,PC games is not such a good market for EA.

Yea I can wait till November for sure..... just wish we knew when it would be out and EA would tell us, thats my only problem.
and telling us it would be out in October wasn't a great move... they are better off overstating the release date and surprising us by getting it out early, then to understate and make us wait longer. But perhaps they did do that and are having major hassles..... who knows

Ive been thinking about this, i dont think rights should be an issue, seeing as the console versions surely have the same legal issues? yet they are out.

Rest assured that EA will find a way to dick us around as much as possible. Just like every year.
Maybe they will announce that there will be no NBA Live 2004 for PC a'la NBA Live 2002
Fri Oct 17, 2003 11:53 am
Did they say that after first saying that there is a PC version?
Fri Oct 17, 2003 11:56 am
I don't think so.
I'm just venting.
Fri Oct 17, 2003 3:26 pm
damn i hope ea will not do that because many people will be pissed off

OK so I started worrying about if they would release this game at all for 2004 and I emailed EA. Read through the header and to the bolded portion for the response:

Is EA releasing a PC version of 2004?
Fri Oct 17, 2003 4:41 pm
ill wait till november as long the roster is updated... and the bugs are fixed
Fri Oct 17, 2003 6:54 pm
They will NOT delay games to work on rosters. You can get those anywhere on the net and they will release roster updates anyway.
Just from previous experience it's common that they release their games with off season rosters, cause else they could never pick a date to close it off. Or in short: you do not want to be messing around with rosters when you are about to do testing before the release.
Just imagine that some small change creates a new bug or something....they'll have to start testing again
But WHY on earth is it so difficult for EA Sports to inform the community ?? I just don't understand.
A simple message like "Guys, it'll be delayed because...whatever and we hope you can understand that we have to do it like this". That would save people a lot of frustration.
It's so simple & everybody's happy and it's end of the discussion.

Are you sure about that? I thought I had to download a Yao Ming patch, or if EA did include him, then it looked like a created player with a face that doesn't look anything like him.

The game's coming out in early november...I have it preordered...EA took my money for it, so it's coming in November...like their website says.

Their website said 13th Oct up until last week.
But, yea, i dont think they will further delay it

How you know EA took the money for it already? I thought they only charge you once they ship it.

I beg to differ, Yao did come in the game (the PC version) without a patch and it did look like him. A big pasty white 7 footer with an asian flat top.

NBA Live 2004 is still not released, but how the hell is that some people are already playing the game on PC. I heared that there's a pc version running on the streets.
So it means that pc version (that running on street) is not fully completed, fixed.
Another question is why the hell(again) they delayed that release? Do you think they're fixin something?

I dont know of a PC version on the streets, unless someone stol it and then is mass producing it.
Note That is how most bootleggin is done actually, its just that it isn't as rampant in games as it is with music or sneakers.
