Trading for draft picks

I posted this as a reply for another post but i want to start a new thread on this one. I think it's worth it.

I think EA tried to make it hard to trade for draft picks... it is good i think... unless it's too tight.

I always thought it will be too easy to trade my veterans for all the lottery picks and draft all good rookies myself. That would've been a major bug. So I am somwhat glad to hear that. However, i won't go to conclusion until i get the game (which will be like 1 month away)

On the other hand, I am guessing bad teams who are rebuilding would normally hesitate to trade their draft picks while better teams won't as much.
Can anyone who has the game do some research on this?

p.s. I hope I am not double posting... old threads were simply asking whether this feature was in the game. This thread is more like discussing how good it is...

EGarrett said something about it being almost impossible to trade for a draft pick. Even if the team has a good record...i dunno...somethin' like that...he'll post about it i guess.

At any given time 28-29 out of the 29 teams in the league will not be interested in trades involving draft picks. That means any trade. The best team in the league won't trade what will be a late first round pick for a lottery teams 1st overall pick. It just says they're "not interested in trades involving draft picks at this time" no matter what you propose. And the only way to tell is to propose a trade, go to the execute trade trade screen then hit execute and it will tell you they're not interested...so you'd have to go through every team that way to even know who was interested...the little bars next to the Draft picks don't help. Every team should be interested if the offer is good enough...different picks should just have different values...

I'm really disappointed and I was really looking forward to being able to blow a team up for cap room and extra picks but it's just too tight...

Now that is tight. Maybe they dont really evaluate team records and consider all first round picks as of equal value...

Just a couple of quick thoughts I had..

* maybe a team won't be interested in trading its draftpick until it seems more apparent whether it's gonna be a lottery or some late last pick. Try proposing a trade late in the season, possible a day before the trade deadline or something..

* maybe they made all draft picks to be considered as future HOFer. Try trading YOUR draft pick for a decent star and see how they react.
