Which slider settings do you use to make your game more realistic?

I used these for a base, I'm still tweaking because the offensive rebounds for both cpu and user were still low

I used these with my Lakers franchise with 10 minute quarters and my first game was very good. Shooting was 51% cpu and 54% me.
The final score was 115-108. I won, but it was a great game. I will play my second game tonight and see--but I won't change any sliders till my 2nd year.

Recipe for Perfect Sliders (results may vary)
1. Use default sliders or one you got off the internet
2. Play about 10-15 games in your season
3. Write down the final team stats at the end of each game
4. When you've reached at least 10 games, add the stats up, and average them out (A calculator may be required)
5. Compare the averaged out stats from your games with the league averages
6. See which areas need tweaking and which ones don't
7. Tweak the sliders in the settings
8. Repeat steps 1-7 until your averaged out stats are close to, if not on the dot, with the league averages.

There you have it...some people actually come up with good sliders and some don't. But keep in mind these factors. You may be a better player than the one who created the sliders or may not be. Some people are in the same skill level and some are not. There are 82 games in the regular season not just 3. There are such things as UPSETS and BLOWOUTS in sports, if you don't believe me read about the Cubs vs. Marlins and Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns. It takes patience to get to your desired sliders...but once you get there...the result is a good simulation experience. So good luck this NBA LIVE 2004 this season...and hopefully we all can get good sliders...

It's way too early to be messing with sliders as far as I'm concerned. You don't even have a feel for how the game plays when you're experienced with it. Don't you think you should get used to the new controls and ratings...see how the game plays when you know what you're doing...then tweak it maybe a little later when you know what the real problems are? Fidgeting with sliders now will just slow your learning of the game IMO...

Latest game played with these settings, which I have played over 15 now and this is my average type game:

Suns (ME) vs Mavericks
Points 83 - 97
Field Goals 33/80 40/82
FG% .412 .488
3's 4/12 2/11
FT 13/18 15/17
FT % .722 .882
RBs 40 43
ORBs 6 3
DREB's 34 40
Blocks 5 6
Steals 3 4
Assists 15 21
TO's 11 9
SOME PLAYERS STATS: Suns: Hardaway 23pts, Marbury 22pts, 3/4 from three, Marion 17pts 9rebs, Stoudemire 14pts 8rebs. Pretty damn realistic numbers, I think I need to play maybe 9/10 minute quarters vice 8 though these are great stats, I have used a couple of folks templates on here just trying to save time (sorry), thanks! Please let me know what you think, I am going to bump up the offensive rebounding to 100 for both user/computer this should help some on the offensive glass, though the only true way to fix this is to go an edit players offensive rebounding tendicies!

try these.

FG% is too high. Should be low to mid 40s.

Thanks for the slider settings.

I changed these settings trying to do a few of my own

Game Speed: 40
Fatigue Effect: 100

User/CPU Short Range Shooting 37
User/CPU Medium Range Shooting 30
User/CPU Long Range Shooting 25
User/CPU Lay-up Percentage

CPU Steal Ability: 10

It seems to work out ok...

ud think ea would try and make things easier for us games. save us fucking around witha ll the little things. mind the language. like have 2 defualt settings for sliders. one realistic. one simulation so 4 ppl who like to have a exiting game rather han realistic. and also the rating sceme for ppl. wouldnt it be better if the made the ratings on ppls avg stats. so say for fg% say they guy shoots 80% avg make his rating 80 for fgoals.??? so for creating ppl or changing ratings it would be some much easier to play around with. giving us more time to play the actuall game.

more changes
Game Speed: 32
CPU/User dunk frequency: 25/25

after changing this I had
I usually got
100~120 pts games using 12 minute quarters in all-star mode.
