PC In Menu slider

Postby fvdmc on Wed Sep 17, 2003 6:44 am

Do you think the options in the menu will have sliders this time, instead of little console-style buttons. When I try to create a player, the buttons get frustrating. :D

This was one of the most frustrating UI problems with Live 2003... The user interface can just be so much better for the PC, but they threw a total console conversion at us pc users. It felt kind of an insult.

I for one will raise hell, if the UI is still optimized for consoles... Cause it would really suck. And it would leave us PC players shafted again.

I hope they have done at least some of the UI for PC cause Live 2003 was next to unusable...

I wasn't really bothered by the interface in Create-a-Player, except when it came to assigning the player's college, which is much quicker if you're using a slider.

i don't like the UI of PC in recents Live..
it's bad.

I cannot use the Keyboard ('Enter') to resume a game after i paused it
Cannot proceed to the next step neither by Keyboard ('Enter') nor gamepad .....
cannot use arrow keys to scroll the 'player stats' ...

all i have to do is pointing the mouse up and down...
man, it's very inconvenient especially when I finish setting up the strategy before tip off :? ,
i have to switch between mouse and gamepad as quick as i can...

therefore, my solution now is .... setting up strategy right after the tip-off.....

at past , user can access by keyboard or gamepad...
hope it'll be improved this year

Have you seen how small those scroller arrows are in Live 2003... It just hurts to use those. It is darn right painful.

I know we will get pretty much the same, but hopefully we would get something out of the higher resolution graphics and the fact that we have a mouse. And they would really consider the fact that things don't work the same with the mouse as it does with a game pad in consoles.

It shouldn't be that hard to do... Just do something about the scrollers and make all the "point and click" areas a little larger and voila, a much more usable interface has been created for the pc users.

It shouldn't be that hard... I ain't even asking them to take the full potential of higher resolutions in their UI concept. Though I will be asking it again for next year, if nothing has been done about this.

Something I'd like to see for the PC version's UI - the ability to click the top of a column to sort data by that field, rather than using a "Sort By" button.

That too would be something sweet... I don't even see why they put it in there. Doesn't it work in consoles? It shouldn't be that hard to implement into the consoles too. Unless the coders are lazy...

On the consoles it's easier to select a column and press a "Sort By" button, but since the PC version has a mouse at its disposal, a return to the traditional style of interface would be for the best.

Yeah, do you boys still remember the 2001 UI, man you could really use that... You had no trouble and it even took advantage of the higher resolutions that us CPU users have... Man, those were the days.

They really should design a separate UI for PC. "We have always been here" and we should get what we want and need. And not just a pure console conversion. The gameplay conversion is still ok, but the horrible 640x480 UI is intolerable. It is just plain ugleeiyh.

This is one reason why anyone with a pc got turned off by this game. It is one thing if the gameplay is different and arcadish, but giving us a UI that is unusable, well that's just the last nail in the coffin...

Couldn't agree more. The old UI was great, very little back and forth, and easy access to every menu from any menu screen.
