This can't be to bad a list as its an exact replica of the NBA Efficiency rankings. My only variations were upping Kidd to number 5 and removing Malone (hes one of my favorite all time players, but hes number will likely fall next year assuming he doesnt retire. I raised Kidd because I think no other team can take a team from world class joke to 2 time consecutive conference champions (in both regular season and playoffs) in a space of 2 years. In reality aside from kidd very little was changed in NJ, and wihtout him id be willign to bet theyd still be rock bottom, no matter what other PG they may have signed (lets face it, they had Stephon, how much more can you ask for?).
It was a tough choice between KG and Duncan, as statistically both are outstanding, but in the end it was KG just tipping the efficiency rating, and taking winning crunch time that made him my vote. I think the fact that he hasn't gotten past the first round with minnesotta isn't a big issue, as he is without a doubt in my mind the best forward in the league at the moment (I still consider Duncan a centre) and possibly teh best all round player, period. I rated him top, but gave equal ratings, because the two together IMO are probalby the best 2 players all round in the NBA today.
Another issue, VC isnt in there because he wasnt in the rankings. This i belive is simply because he didnt play enough games, or i could be sure hed be in there. Id probably slot him in before Wallace at 12th after guesstimating the stats he would hhave probably averaged (25ppg, 5.5rpg, 4apg, 1.5 spg, 46% FG, 79%FT, 38% 3PT).
Also, I think the fact that Rasheed barely made the top 30 in efficiency ranking begs the question "how could he possibly get a higher rating the duncan..". I would say, going by the ratings ive thought up above, Rasheed should be around the 80-81 point..anyone who didn not make the top 30 should be below 80, beause i don't think there should be bench players with 80+ ratings, unless in very special circumstances (i.e. you have Duncan, Shaq, Kg on the same team, and webber on the bench.
ratings should maybe go from 0-100 instead of 50-100, that way 50 could represent an average player, 65 -70 a quite solid bench player, 75-85 a quality starter, and 85+ an all star. 70 is abit of a high number to give a below average player, as is 60 for a no hoper.
I wanted to minimise the shifting, so there are some positions i would shift around, but generally the list to me looks quite decent.
