UNIFORMS? and DYANSTY MODE!

Postby Krisman4 on Mon Jun 02, 2003 5:00 am

Just another quick idea. I think in the dynasty mode there should be an option of changing or editing the colors of your teams uniforms. Because there are plenty of people out there like me who don't know how to make jersey patches (or any patches for that matter), or people who just get sick of the same jerseys throughout a 25 year dynasty mode. Because in the real NBA teams change their uniforms. They don't keep the same ones for 25 years.

I also have 3 questions:

1. Will we have the option of editing the players off of March Madness 2004 when we put them into the game?

2. Will I be able to take those players off of March Madness 2004 and place them into a Dynasty Mode draft? Or will I just only be able to place them into the regular game?

3. Will you be able to edit the facial hair, real hair, and head gear of NBA players already on the game?

THANKS

About 3, I don't think we should edit the nba players facial features like hair and what not. But adding a headband within the game would be easier than using the dbf editor.

Adding new facial hair and hairstyles is something that has been talked about before, but there's various problems that would result in unsatisfactory results - primarily, the optional hairstyles and facial hair would most likely be a generic set, meaning you couldn't achieve the same results as a good cyberface patch.

I like the idea of a jersey editor. It would probably be fairly easy to create custom jerseys the same way you edit costumes in wrestling and other fighting games - adjusting colour, positioning the logo, etc. Still, the ability to Re-design Jerseys seems like too much detail.

I can't answer the questions on March Madness 2004 precisely, but you would probably be able to edit players that you import.

Speaking of which, it doesn't really seem like a great feature to boast - MM isn't released in Australia (and I'm sure many other places as well), and it's a console only release, so anyone who is a PC gamer and/or doesn't live in North America won't be able to utilise it.

Another option for Dynasty Mode, even if it isn't put in the game for a few years, is the ability to move cities. And, add expansion teams.

11. So, could you hypothetically be the Cincinnati Bengals and have your typical 1-15, 2-14 record, but lead the league in attendance if your prices are insanely low enough?

Well, you could cut prices in Cincy, but if you are still losing every little aspect reaches another one, so at the end of the day if you do not bring in enough revenue from selling out your stadium, you're not gonna hve enough money to pay top coaches/players. Everything is sort of interrelated. You can now keep score beyond wins and losses, but if you have too many years in the red you can lose the team.
There are over 100 cities to re-locate to, which include just about every North American city that could hold a NFL team. Included in North America are of course Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean.

12. I'm curious about the stadium builder. Does a favorable layout with great stadium accessibility have an impact on whether or not people come as opposed to one that is cluttered?

There is a whole section of amenities that play a bigger role, more so than civil engineering. It's more about "what do you got for me?" So fans are going to come to see the fancy jumbo tron or lots of bathrooms. The guys inside (Madden programmers, testers) jokingly called the game "Simowner," which gives a pretty good scope of how things are.
