It needs to go in the render folder. By default, that's located at C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2004\render.

Well, you still need to place it within a subfolder of the render folder; for cyberfaces, you need to place them within C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2004\render\xplayer.
