Quick VIDEO CARD Question (8600GT)

I just read that sometimes newer cards don't support older games. I'm interested in buying a video card so I can play NBA Live 2004 and 2003 on my PC. I am close to buying the 8600GT card.

Does anyone here have the 8600GT and play NBA LIVE 04 or 03? Does it play smoothly? Does it not play at all?

It was maybe about newer os(vista) doesnt support older games like live 04. Actually i have no idea why it shouldnt work in good gfx cards.

I am running SLI'd 8800GTs on Vista and the game runs fine.

I fugured it is the cpu that causes performance problems rather than the gfx cards. I am running on core 2 duo with 8800gt but live lagged...
I turned off one core and ran on single core...

guess what...

it stopped lagging...
