This is the real question every`s saying how great look the game and all that but think about i have both console the pc and ps2 and for a long shoot nba2k2..2k3..and for sure the 2k4 version are the greatest games of basketball I have ever play maybe only the NBA live 99 has been the real good version of this game...For instanse the nba live bring again the freestyle thing...i have a sidewinder control and those not have the analog stick how can we enjoy it... i a mean we i think the most of the owners of the game...i bought recently the adaptor for playing whit a psx control but the ps2 control does not seam to be compatible...well i`m just sharing what is my experience with this game...any comments r wellcome
pd:  I think if the nba live 2004 most in franchise mode be able to retire the jerseys of the active player like garnett kobe...that over the years retire...and of the drafted players over the seasons...the game should have to a player profile like the nba.com page with the carrer highs and seasons highs...also i think the off season could be more like 2k3 in which a player is poor in 3pt shooting make it work the off season hard in this aspet and so on----also a complete all star weekeng with the rookies vs sphomores and the 3pt shoout and well i know is dificult but the dunk competion too...maybe like a list of dunks and acording of the talent ...jumping hability the player can or not do the dunk...and do like the freetrow time of shoot...i dont remember which game but i was something like that... :P

As impressive as NBA2K3 sounds (haven't played it myself), I think NBA Live 2004 will be the superior game, especially if the finished product has everything the first preview listed as key features. I think EA have used NBA Live 2003 as a base, fixing up issues and improving aspects that were grumbled over, and adding some new stuff along the way. Two thumbs up here.

These is another topic i would like to compare this...in nba2k3 the game r very close the computer does not make every 3 they attm..in nba live 2003 the games r too open the scores very hi and very not real...if your playing with dallas these maybe real...but if your playing with the knicks or with cleveland c`mon...well if anyone can debate me in this...i would like to know your opinion

Yes, the FG%, nature of three point shots and final scores are unrealistic in NBA Live 2003, at least playing 12 minute quarters. Same story with the nature and amount of steals and blocks. These are elements of the game that are hopefully fixed up in NBA Live 2004.

The question isn't can Live 04 be as good or better than 2K3, the real question is can Live 04 be as good as 2K4?

That’s what I was going to say but I missed out on the list of things live needs to fix
Make a Season and Career highs pop as milestones and triple doubles etc
And please make a way so that rooks have names not numbers
and how can you make a slam dunk ?
has it been done before ?
I've only played Live 96, 2001 and 2003 and Inside Drive 2000 PC
and never seen no dunk contest
Anyone have a idea on the release date ?

IMO graphics wise nba2k4 can't beat live'04. however in the gameplay department the 2k series is better.

ne have a idea on the release date ?
It's way too early for a specific date, but it's usually sometime in late October/early-to-mid November.

NBA 2K3 has some evry nice graphics, players sweating and each arena is authentic, and the backboard, rim and net all looked very realistic. The cyberfaces couldve been better though. NBA Live 2004 looks sweet so far, but who knows what 2K4 will throw at them.
In terms of gameplay who really knows? 2k3 drilled live 2003, but that doesn't mean live cant turn the tables this year. Should be interesting and if NBA Street volume 2 can be any sort of indicator of how good an EA game can be, live could very well be better than sega's game.
I'll probably by both assuming 2k4 is released down here, and i hope it is.

I used to play 12 minutes quarters and get great stats I just loved playing the full game, but the games I was playing were like 178-164 and some scored even higher. One game was 210-189 NO team scores that... IN like 5 games into the season I had triple the amount of pooints any other team had, they were all getting in the 70s and low 100s...
I play 8 mins quarters now and still get around 120s...
And yeah I have a Sidewinder control too, but I use the Keyboard... Without a key implementing Freestyle on the keyboard there is nothing I can do!

well IMO nba 2k3 is the best basketball game ever
2k4 is prolly gonna be even better
the graphics are better than lives IMO
i thought there were gonna be crap wen i bought it, but that is judging by the screens, you play the game and the graphics are a lot better.
so far, live 2004 graphics dont look good, nash looks about 12 years old, t-mac has a wierd looking face

I'll take Live on PC anyday, especially 2004 its looking great early and there are some promising features. The one thing console users don't have that we do is mods and patches that's always been a big factor in my hesitation to buy a console system. Can't judge the game right now of the graphics it's in development but you've gotta look at the improvements in hair already, Nash's hair looks more realisitic this year then it did last year which is good news. Live's graphics are awesome and all they have to do is improve little things with graphics and fix some gameplay issues and add features and the game will be the best.

Just wait til you play nba street volume 2. That game is in-fuckin-credible. Pity the ps2 in australia dont have online support yet otherwise id offer you a game. Kings vs Lakers, rematch of game 7 last year

there was a dunk contest b4, glenn rice was on the cover of this ps1 game, was made by konami (1999?)... u press a sequence of buttons in the amount of time given, the better u input the better the dunk will come out...

for all the gameplay people out there : Live 2004 will have gameplay sliders to help fix the little annoyances in the gameplay. That in itself is a worthy purchase. I tried to like the nba2k series but I'm just never feelin it. Live's PC graphics beats any x box basketball game out there hands down.

Something like
MORTAL KOMBAT's "Brutality" combination (featuring Vince Carter)
That would be cool!!!

Sliders are one of the things that makes me optimistic about NBA Live 2004, since being able to tweak the gameplay engine directly is much more effective than changing the player ratings - and will be much better for Dynasty Mode.

The last time I bought a NBA game outside EA, the game didn't even run.
I'll stick with EA because it's so reliable, traditional

and it's easy to patch these days.

EA (or at least some of the Live team) is aware of this site and forum, and I'm informed they do read the Wishlist that we send in. Wishes have been granted before - the most significant being multi-season mode (Dynasty/Franchise Mode).
