v. 1.12 released

Thu Nov 04, 2004 10:36 pm

Hello guys, here is the version 1.12 of the roster that you can get here:

http://www.drjbballer.com/NLSC/p04v112.zip

This version, the first one I take over Andrew, is updated through November, 3rd. All the missing players have been created, some players' appearances updated (especially shoes color with jersey color), some ratings updated.

comments and suggestions are very welcome! :D

Good job on the first patch without Andrew! :)

A few suggestions:

LAKERS
-Brian Cook is a good shooter. His FG rating (65) should be increased, his 3pt rating (18) should be greatly increased so that he can regularly hit shots (high 60's), and his shooting range (18 feet) should be increased to 25 feet.
-Tierre Brown made the team, and Tony Bobbit didn't. Tierre Brown's handles and general scoring ratings should be increased. He's only a rookie, but he seems to be a natural scorer who can take people off the dribble and create his own shot.
-Change Lamar Odom's position to PF/SF. He starts at PF, while Caron Butler starts at SF.
-Chris Mihm (young, athletic, and runs the floor well) should have his quickness and speed increased, while Vlade Divac (old and slow) should have his quickness and speed decreased.

ROCKETS
-Maurice Taylor starts at PF instead of Juwan Howard.
-Charlie Ward starts at PG instead of Tyronn Lue.

PISTONS
-Richard Hamilton's 3pt rating (65) and shooting range (25 feet) need to be lowered even further. He's been shooting in the mid-20s for the last couple of seasons, and has started this season 0-3 from behind the 3pt line. He should be rated even lower (I think his original rating in the high 50s is fine), and his shooting range should be decreased so that he can only shoot regularly at 2pt range. Also, he's regarded as the best midrange jumpshooter in the game today. His FG rating should probably be increased a bit.

HEAT
-Change Michael Doleac's position to C/PF, since he gets minutes playing alongside Shaq as well as subbing for him.

NETS
-Jacque Vaughn starts at PG
-Change Eric Williams' position to PF/SF. He starts at PF.
-Jason Collins starts at C.

Alex I got this imformation from the patching issue section can you please post a new roster so that we can use Charlotte in a season. I don.t see a saves folder in my 2004 files so maybe you can make the change and post the new roster update if this works for you thanks.

It seems lots of people are trying to get the Charlotte Bobcats into Dynasty/Season mode, well i just figured out a way to get them into SEASON but when i try to put them in Dynasty, it crashes
to get them in SEASON simply do this-

1) get a "DB Command Editor" and in one of your saves (the 1 your gonna use the rosters for)
2) open "teams.DBF"
3) go all the way down untill you see the Bobcats,
5) go to the right untill you see "TEAMCODE"
6) Change it from "7" to "4"
7) Exit the DBC Editor,
8) Fire Up NBA Live,
9) Load Your Rosters that You Edited
10) Go into Season,
11) Place Charlote into one of the empty spots in 1 of the divisions
12) There ya go

If i figure out how to get them into Dynasty, i shall let you know

Problem With National Teams Patch?

Sun Nov 07, 2004 3:03 am

On my computer, a lot of the new rookies in this patch with overall ratings in the 40s have their birthplaces listed as the last name of a player in the National Teams patch. For example, Yuta Tabuse's birthplace is "Bulleri, Bulleri". Bulleri is the starting PG for Italy in National Teams. There are quite a few new players like this. Do you know what could be the problem.

Thanks for the comments :) I'll apply the changes of ratings suggested

I'll change the TEAMCODE of the Bobcats, so you'll be able to add them in season, but clow36, don't lose your time trying to add Bobcats in Dynasty, it's impossible.

That's weird :? For the moment a lot of created players don't have birthplaces mentionned. I will correct it in the next version of the roster. But your problem should be a conflict between the NLSC roster and the NT Patch.

CAVALIERS
-Change Lebron James' position to SF/SG. He starts at SF.
-Jeff McInnis Starts at PG.
-Lucious Harris starts at SG.
-Zydrunas Ilgauskas should have his shooting range increased to 18 feet.

alexboom, will you be updating contracts? For example, Kobe is still in the last year of his old contract, instead of the first year of a new one.

Wed Nov 10, 2004 7:13 am

congrats on your first NLSC roster, alexboom!

I assume the 92 Dream Team is on the 1.12. I made uniforms and a couple of face patches for it. I'm not out to steal alexboom's well-deserved thunder, but i thought this would be a good place to gauge interest in my graphics patches.

yes, i know there was no red Dream Team uniform, and credit to someone from live.org who did the barkley patch for the legends pack.

thanks again for the roster update, alexboom, i'm downloading it now.

Wed Nov 10, 2004 6:56 pm

very nice graphics! :D I don't think that I would add these to the roster patch (to keep the roster not to big to download) ; but I'd be glad to add in the readme file where you can download it! :D

GRIZZLIES
-Bonzi Wells starts at SG.

T'WOLVES
-Wally Sczerbiak starts at SF.
-Change Latrell Sprewell's position to SG/SF. He starts at SG.

JAZZ
-The Jazz have signed PG Howard Eisley.

thank u so much (Y)

Just curious, when can we expect the next patch?

Thu Nov 18, 2004 8:29 pm

i think that i'll release next version by the end of the month, there hasn't been a lot of changes that could justify a release in my opinion

Nice job.

now that the Pacers roster stands at 17, while NBA Live 2000 can only support 15 players per team, we have a problem. I started a topic on Live 2005 Roster Issues, as every version of Live is concerned :)

Please give your comments and opinion on that topic!

There's no easy way around this. There are going to be negative effects no matter what option you choose. Suspensions don't happen in this game, and the game isn't properly equipped to deal with them.

I'm in favor of just ignoring the suspensions and the scrub FAs that were signed (it's not like they'll be staying for long). Stephen Jackson and Jermaine O'Neal will be back in about a month anyway. If you don't think you're going to get patch 1.14 out before then, then they definately shouldn't be removed because 1.13 will live on long after the suspensions end.

If someone wants to play a single game with the Pacers under the current conditions, then they should just move the suspended players off the starting lineups when they choose teams, and give them no minutes. If they want to start a season or dynasty, I seriously doubt they want to play the whole thing under temporary changes like these. And if they're already in the middle of a dynasty, that's a fantasy world which is supposed to start like the real world, but diverges on its own path from there (you wouldn't put your star on IR if he suddenly gets injured in real life).

Just create the scrubs and put them in FAs if they're not already in the game.

SONICS
-Evans starts at PF
-James starts at C
-Ridnour's 3pt% last season was 33.8%, and he's averaging a terrific 44.8% this season. One of his roles in the offense is to be a spot up shooter. Even last season's number deserves better than the 66 rating he currently has.

ROCKETS
-Yao Ming's defensive rebounding (90) is overrated. He lacks rebounding skills and has low rebounding averages for his height. His current rating puts him just a shade under Nowitzki and Shaq, although in real life they both average about 2 more drpg than him.
-Charlie Ward's not an accurate 3pt shooter anymore. Lower his rating, he doesn't deserve the icon.

SUNS
-The team is going small-ball, with a Joe Johnson at SG, Q-Rich at SF, Marion at PF, and Amare at C.

MAVERICKS
-Dirk Nowitzki has beaten his shooting slump from last season and is averaging a career high 44% from 3pt territory. Increase his 3pt rating.

GRIZZLIES
-Hubie Brown has stepped down from being the head coach of the Grizzlies. Create Mike Fratello and make him the team's new coach. It's going to be weird hearing him provide commentary at the same time he's coaching though. :)

-Lebron, Wade, and Amare probably deserve overall boosts. These three guys have elevated their games and are tearing it up this season.

I think Matt Bonner of the Toronto Raptors ratings should be boosted a little bit. He is currently has .620 field goal percentage and the majority of the shots he hits are from 15-20 feet. He's also a high energy type player with good hustle and he's a decent rebounder. I know all of this cause I see him play quiet often here :D .

Alex First I'd like to say thanks for this great roster and all the hard work to put it all together.

Also thanks with helping me get signed up.

I was wondering when an est. of the next roster patch might come out.

Increase Kobe's 3pt rating to at least 72 or 74, if not more. This is taking his skills into account, rather than just stats. Kobe has a complete game and can shoot as well as drive, unlike a lot of young stars and up-and-comers in the league. If he has an open shot, he'll make it. When the Lakers are down, Kobe often steps up and hits a couple in a row. And as we all know, his clutch 3pt shots are deadly.

His stats are probably an understatement of his abilities, since he's double or triple teamed, and his team often gives him the undesireable bail out shot if the shot clock is about to run out. Still, Kobe's career average is about 33%. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a 70 rating is supposed to correspond to about 30 or 31%. From my playing experience, Kobe struggles to reach 30%, even bricking wide open shots. Right now, Kobe's probably got the lowest 3pt rating among the elite swing men, lagging far behind Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, and T-Mac (to be fair they have had slightly higher percentages than Kobe in past seasons, but IMO not enough to warrant an extra 10 rating points).

Thanks for the info, I've noted everything.

I think the next version will be released on next monday

Wed Dec 08, 2004 2:46 am

Don't know if these last minute suggestions will reach you before you finish the patch, but I'll give it a shot.

-Dallas has traded Darrell Armstrong to New Orleans for Dave Dickau.

-The Lakers have given the Bobcats Kareem Rush for draft picks.

-The Lakers have signed Tony Bobbitt, so now you don't have to remove him from the roster.

-The Bobcats have waived Eddie House.

-Rookie Beno Udrih is playing well for the Spurs. He probably deserves an overall boost. The easiest changes to make are his shooting ratings. He's averaging over 46% from the field, 44% from 3pt land, and about 79% from the FT line.

Wed Dec 08, 2004 4:13 am

yes, these trades will be included, i'll try to release it soon :)
