Game crashing, codebase teams error

At various points when I am playing Live 2004, the game will crash, and I will either have to ctrl alt del out to the desktop myself or it just sends me there. A few times I've gotten an error with something to do with codebase teams error or something. I've had this problem trying to play practice and play now modes, but on seperate occasions these modes have worked. So it's not a constant problem. I've had this happen ever since I installed a game controller, a Saitek 880. I might try installing that again. Does anyone have any ideas?

Generally Codebase errors occur when you make modifications to the DBF files eg editing them with MS Excel and saving them incorrectly or entering an invalid value.

I think it had something to do with a National Teams roster file i had installed. A ran an exe they provided and things seemed to work again. Still crashes when i try to play 1 on 1, however.

i also get a code base error. but for me it crashes when i start a new season. i just click on Next Game an the game freezes. i get these errors:
