Direct IP connect (how accurate is the IP address NBA lists?

Just curious because I was trying to connect with my brother 60 miles away on a different DSL line. However, we had the same IP address listed in NBA Live 2004. Also, this address is totally different from what websites tell me my IP address is (www.whatismyip.com). Using this website, my IP seems to change every day. Weird.


What address should I use. Thanks for the help.

if you're using a router then the game shows a different ip address. I've had this same problem. Usually, you would have to use the modem's ip address followed by a colon and then a number that represents your computer's address (usually 100). But NBA live does not allow you to use a colon. So the only way to play direct connect is by disconnecting ur router and connecting the dsl modem straight to your pc. Or another way to do it is to connect to the other person's computer. If the other guy has a router too, then he will have to disconnect the router and connect the dsl modem straight to the pc also.
