Maverick's Glitch!?

I use San Antonio and usually blow the CPU out! (Updated Rosters, sliders, etc.) by 30+ points. Usually murder my friends at it too. But One of my friends uses the old Maverick's Glitch with Dirk ( For the one's who don't know what i'm talking about, then this post isn't for you, don't want to give you too much advantage on your game) =) (To refresh the Vets of this, its the midrange unblockable shooting glitch)

I was wondering what you veteran gamers do to defense against this. I usually keep Duncan on him and have Nes roaming under the rim incase Finley or Jameson try anything funny. If I do that, then he uses the other glitch for Dirk, the Killer Crossover 100% 3 Point shooting. Or the 100% fade away glitch with Nash from the baseline, What am i gonna do?

P.S. They should take that *ish* out in 05'

K fine, the mavs glitch is when you penitrate with anyone, (Nash, Finley) then dish to Dirk on bout 8 feet away, then catch and shoot, no matter if it's Shaq and duncan with Wallace jumping at the same time and in his face, it will go in 99% of the time, there is no way to stop this, after a penetration, Dirk always goes to the same spot, check it out and try it, then catch and shoot, its the most anoying thing ever!

And you know about the killer crossover glitch right?

I know! I love the Mavs! I specifically use San Antonio because its the only team i think in the whole game that can consistantly beat them. This is because "D" is the key, with 2 shot blockers at all times, or leaving 1 when a sub is needed, its the only way to stop the freaking Mavs!

No back to the subject, can anyone tel me how to stop this anoying "Glitch"!?

Oh ya, and please add how to stop the Shaq 100% shooting glitch, the Nash 100% 3 point Glitch, the Duncan 100% shooting glitch and the K. Malone glitch, thanks =)

this is the first time ive heard of this glitch and me and genocide here have been here a long time. i doubt that this is a glitch its probably just an exploit or maybe your freinds' just good hehehehe

I believe this is a glitch. With this, you can beat the CPU by 30 - 50+ points. It isn't a play, it isn't even the style that the Mavs use. Its just a catch and shoot with Dirk. Even if you have the big man release or its just thrown up in the air, it will go in. And i believe your a good player if you can choose any team and rip it up with them. This dude can't. Without this little "Glitch" he can't win. I seen a couple people use it. I don't know. If anyone knows about this, lemme know.

Oh ya, and please add how to stop the Shaq 100% shooting glitch, the Nash 100% 3 point Glitch, the Duncan 100% shooting glitch and the K. Malone glitch, thanks =)

i've been here a long time and i've never heard of ANNY of these glitches or the Killer Crossover glitch

I was hoping you could help me...
Maybee you could call a glitch or an exploit, anyways, what's an exploit? Is it where there's a certain shot that goes in almost a 100% of the time, these are it? I'm from Cali, then i moved to the Philippines a few years back, Everyone's doing these damn "Exploits or Glitches" I'm used to playing the set plays, roving D, you know, the true NBA style, the sim to its perfection. There are a bunch of these exploits being used, there's the PF exploit in the low block, even your lowerst rated PF can make this shot even with a C in his face. The Shaq exploit with the trunaround one hander, the Duncan exploit from amost anywhere (of the glass shot), the Nash fade away 3 from the Baseline, the Dirk mid-range and 3, the high percentage offensive rebound from a freethrow miss, the C in the backcourt exploit(long pass w/ double team), the Tony Parker Teardrop from the lane... ETC.!
No one has heard of these? these are the sure shots!?
All you have to do is get a defensive stop and don't wory about offense, just keep doint these for a darn sure shot! and its anoying,it takes out the "SIM" in the game, it turns into an arcadish kinda game...

I'll be honest and say I have no clue what on Earth you are talking about (and I've been around for a long time as well). However, I've found a defensive glitch . This is usually better used when a big man is backing down someone else in the post, but this could work if you time it right (ie, right when the ball is on its way to Dirk or when he catches it). You slam the double team key. For some reason, the FG% goes way down, no matter how far away your double team is, the probability of making the shot does down. Plus, time the jump correctly. This doesn't always work, but most of the time, it does.

I found another defensive "glitch" that actually works in the offense's favor, everytime. If you jump too early, and your defender is at the peak of the jump when the offensive player takes the shot, it goes in. It's as if there was no one around for 5 miles. Remember not to do that...

I have an interesting idea...put Manu Ginobili (who should be the highest rated Spurs in steals) on Nash. When Nash drives and Dirk is moving to his spot, have do a direct switch to Duncan, have Duncan front Nash. Then direct switch back to Manu really quickly, move him between Nash and Dirk, and mash the steal button lol. Hopefully, it'll work if you've mastered the art of mashing the steal button (I admit, I do it sometimes when I'm down and the computer is inbounding) and direct switch. A problem I can forsee is the stupidity of the AI. Duncan won't realize Manu got beat and he'll stay on Nash. Or Manu won't realize Duncan is switching and move over to cover his man. Or heck, both players will stick to Dirk and Rasho won't move over to help on Nash.

LOL! Ey, thanks for the tip, there are a few others, like when you collide with your defender, shoot right away and it almost always goes in if you release at the right time. I guess no one posts the things i'm talking about because its part of their secret arsinal.

Lemme post a couple:

With Dirk anywhere beyond the arc, resonable shooting range! NOT HALF COURT!, btw. When Dirks at his range, freestyle the double cross over, what my friends call the killer cross over. That's when if Dirk's right hand is dribbling the ball, he crosses over then again to get the ball back to his right hand, the "quick double crossover!" then shoot the ball right away, no matter if your getting tripple teamed and all three guys jump in your face at the same time, the 3 will go in, CHEAP 3's!

Hmmmm, what else, you know the Nash fade away 3? This is for all you Mavs fans! Easy 3's making them more unstoppable!

On a fast break, don't go for the layup, I play on pressbox, so in my point of view, get Nash to the bottom of your screen, the baseline, your defender will usually catch up by this time but it doesn't matter, get to the most cornerest as possible, fade away and let go of the shot! I can put money on it that 9 time out of ten, that 1 time being you released it ugly, the shot will go in, i have alot more! hahah LOL, now does any one know what i'm talking about?

i dont think there is any glitch like that whatsoever. i played as and against all the players you mentioned and their not like the superplayers you mentioned with 100% accuracy whatsoever. mayber you just suck at defense or something...

I honestly do. I was using the Kings, Miller and Divac were all over Dirk it was like he was being raped, but it still went it. lol it was against my friend, who runs up scores of 90+ with 3 minute quarters.

What sliders are you playing with, Tim Duncan? That may be a reason.

For the penetrate and dish play, I recommend just being Duncan and let the CPU guard your friend. Stay on Dirk! When Nash penetrates and looks to pass to dirk, hit the steal button. You may be able to intercept or knock away the pass.

I have never heard of these glitches either.

What sliders? My Live is updated as soon as there's any updates availabe.
And you played against those players? CPU? Hello!? I said a human player does this. And if you didn't do this while you were playing as them?! Hello! you didn't even now about this right? Ahem. Never mind. This post is just food for thought. This happens. i was hoping someone could tell me how to make it "not happen". People "DO" do this. It's cheap play, explits, call it whatever you want. If it never happened to you, then don't post please. I said this was for people who had it happen to them.

Ruffryder8 - THanks for the tip but you just asked me to steal a pass from Nash with Duncan and with Dirk about 2 feet away? Ratings, sliders aside, that's just alomost impossable. It's alomst like a hand off =) Thanks, tried, tested and failed hehe =)
