New rosters patch after the drafts?

Postby Andre on Thu Jun 17, 2004 10:47 am

Is anyone planning to make a new rosters patch after the coming drafts? With all the new rookies already in the right team?

Please...
Andrew? anyone?

Yes, I will continue to maintain the NBA Live 2004 roster update for now. I was thinking of releasing the next roster after the NBA Finals, but it would probably make more sense to wait until after the draft so that I can keep fixing ratings based on everyone's suggestions, as well as add this year's draft class.

Two updates in such a short space of time wouldn't make much sense.

I too am a big fan of your rosters. Quick question:

I know you're waiting to release the patch when the upcoming draft comes and goes, but will you provide the option to load up the latest rosters without the upcoming draft class? I would like to be able to play without the new guys: maybe replay some NBA Finals moments. :D

Yes, I'll include a final 2003/2004 roster as well as the 2004 Offseason Roster. (Y)

Have you started creating rookies yet? I think you should get a head start.

No, I haven't started creating the rookies yet.

Dynasty Mode does not support more than or less than 29 teams. If you try to add the Bobcats or remove another team, crashes will occur.

That's right; unless you want to replace one of the existing teams with the Bobcats (which everyone will have to do individually if they wish to play with them in Dynasty Mode). It's unfortunate but there's no workaround as far as we can tell.

Yes, I'll be moving the appropiate players to the Bobcats roster, which will be playable in Exhibition Mode.

Andrew, will you be looking at the CareerPKG in the player.dbf as well?

I've noticed some players like LeBron have a low value such as an "e" or "d" which means their rating will not improve that much in dynasty mode. Other players like Chandler have an "a", which means they become superstar after 1 season (Chandler superstar? let's be serious..)
Overall I think EA did a mediocre job in this specific rating/ability

It's just a question, I can do it by myself, but since you're working on it...

Yes, I'll look at CAREERPKG values along with other ratings during the offseason. :)

I'm not sure if anyone agrees with me, but I think Jameer Nelson's rating should be 67-68, maybe higher.

Yo Andrew man, why don't u put Okafor (2nd round - Bobcats) on the FA list .. So we can get him on our Dinasty ?!? :)

I think this would be a good idea ... I'm new on the Forum, but as I can see, ur the man on rosters .. hehe, I'm looking forward in having ur new roster update buddy! :)

No need, really. You can easily release him from the Bobcats into the Free Agent pool before you start a new Dynasty. ;)

There's a sticky thread in Patching Issues dedicated to placing the Bobcats in Season/Dynasty Mode. (Y)

He said it would be released sometime next week. It will be released to the public, so there really is no need to ask for it to be e-mailed to you.[/quote]
