i have T. Prince in my dyansty and i chose to get him because he's one of those tall players who can perform the crossover dribble.. after finishing the dynasty and moving on the next season, Prince's dribbling sucked and he could no longer do the crossover.. his freestlye moves also changed to the big man freestyle moves.. what gives?

Since shooting style and Freestyle Moves are mainly governed by a player's dribbling ability, severe decline in this area will result in a player switching styles. This is certainly an element of player development and Freestyle Control that needs to be addressed - an independent attribute governing the player's shooting style and possibly Freestyle moves, as well as a better development/decline system would eliminate issues such as the one you described.
Meanwhile, if you're playing on the PC, you might want to edit the dbf and restore Prince's original dribbling rating. Make sure you backup your Dynasty just in case something goes wrong. If you're playing a console version, then there's not much you can do, sorry.

is there any free dbf editor besides DBF Commander? i kind of hate using trial versions.. anyways, thanks for the info and i hope this does get addressed this year..

You can always use the NBA Live 2003 Toolkit for MS Access 2000. It allows you to edit most of the fields in the NBA Live 2004 DBF files. Also, DB Commander is still functional (for the most part) after the trial period is up.

i read somewhere that you can use Microsoft Excel to edit dbf files.. is this true? i tried it and it opened in Excel but i'm still thinking if it opened the whole dbf file or just part of it..

You can certainly use MS Excel to edit DBF files, but unless you have Exel 2000 or later, I wouldn't recommend doing so. Excel has been known to corrupt DBF files, but the most recent versions seem to have better DBF support.

That's weird, but at least it's easy to fix.
