Game Play Questions???

Postby jolu on Mon Apr 19, 2004 12:00 pm

Hi, I've had the game a little while now and have run into the following problems. I'd like a little help in overcoming these.

1. The layup/dunk button should not even be available. There can be nobody around me or a croud but players miss WAY to many of these. Actually my players seem to make more in a croud than when they are wide open. Same with VERY short jump shots. And yes I know how to time my shots. Longer jump shots seem to work about as expected. If a player is open he makes more often than if he were covered.

2. What slider controls the REDICULOUS effect that has players bouncing 5 feet backwards when they run into the other teams players? Is it just me or is this absurd!

And please don't tell me to practice. I know how to play the game and I know the controls. There is no problem in that department. It's just these couple of things that are driving me up the wall! Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

yup i encountered misses of open layups b4 n it happens most of the time when u have a big lead over your opponent i tink; cant explain y

ya its absurb lol

N yes this game has been giving me fits all the time. The constant banging of my players when they drive to the basket, computers dead accurate 3s; n best of all they r unblockable, sometimes running ahead of me when I fast break (I never could do that to them)

Though its tough but still the game is winnable with balanced defense n offense

i have the opposite problem, i put the shooting sliders in the mid to low 20's so that i won't make every dunk or layup, i even have the defensive sliders jacked up in the 90's for the cpu so that even my open dunks might get blocked. i'm playing on superstar and it just seems to easy to score. i try to take open shots most of the time and it only takes a step or two to get a clear look at the hoop so the shots just go in most of the time.

I completely agree with you osakafanz! The games are winnable and that definately keeps me playing. Hopefully I can figure out some kind of gameplan

Must of not read your thread very well. I played a game last night. I was Indiana at home against the Warriors. If I towards the end of the 3rd period I had an 11 point lead. Thats when the miss'n and bounc'n really started! By the time there was only about 2 minutes left to play the cpu team had pulled in front by 6! I lost by 3! Good game but questionable cpu tactics!

I think the miss'n and bounc'n does happen more when I'm ahead. If the game's tied or even things settle down again! And I even checked to make sure cpu assist wasn't on either. Good point!

All-Star and Superstar levels seem to have a built-in property where the team that's far ahead tends to slack.
