Editing the game ball in NBA Live 2003/04

I have a problem i need the answer to.

I would like to make a ball that has white panels too.

So it'd be Orange/Tan and White

This is the ball i need. Heres a very good pic of it.

I copy the ball fsh into MS Paint, thn edit the panel white. It all looks really nice, but does not work in the game after i import it. It messes up the ball graphics.

What program do i need to do edit the panels, and how can i put the logos on?

I have a major problem with transparency. I use MS Paint for all my stuff, and it's pretty good, but it doesn't do transparency well.

Can anyone offer to do some simple editing for me please?

it' s very difficult to patch the game with MS Paint, my friend...

You can edit the ball with nFSHtool (You can find it at my site tutorials)
Extract ball.fsh
Put ball.fsh on to nFSHtool.exe
Go to ball folder
Open 0000-3.bmp with MS Paint
Make your chandes and save it.
Change its size 64*64. save it as 0000-2.bmp
Change its size 32*32. save it as 0000-1.bmp
Change its size 16*16. save it as 0000-0.bmp
Open index.fsh with nFSHtool.exe
Your ball.fsh is ready now !!

if you can' t Open index.fsh with nFSHtool.exe (win 98 user) Put nFSHtool to ball folder and Put ball.fsh on to nFSHtool.exe

Patchers who have photoshop or another good editor, can make their ball textures.
open ball image in photoshop. (xcommon.viv/ball.fsh)
From image-mode menu select Grayscale
Then from image-mode menu select RGB

I had fshtool, but couldnt figure out how to use it.

I open the program, then it closes.

As it's a fsh only tool, if i try a fsh file it might work.

I think i did try before, but i was a newbie patcher then.

I will see how it goes.

nfshtool is a dos command line thing...
that's why i avoid it and use fshed instead

I tried fshtool again.

I did what you said, but when i opened the index file it said an alpha file was missing.

I imported it anyway, but it did not import.

So it didnt work.

What's best now?

After much jiggery pokery, i managed to make my ball in fshtool.

I have one problem now though.

Instead of having 8 panels orange and white alternate, they are now like this..

Orange
White
White
Orange

So i have the orange and white together.

How can i edit the bmp to do this?

i did a red, white, and blue ball, trying to be like the one in NBA Live Street 2003. and it worked, but the pannels were Red, Blue, Red Blue, Red, Blue and the black line was white, instead of it being, Red, White, Blue, Red, White, Blue like i want it ot be, i wonder how i can fix this?

My ball is looking much better, after i realised that pattern must taper at both ends, and have rounded joins in the middle.

I also did my dornaseason.fsh with fshtool.

It looks very good.

I tried to use fshtool to extract other fsh files.. like court logos, but i can only import.

How can i create fsh badges, logos etc?

Do i need another program?
