Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

I've released v1.07 of the current roster update for NBA Live 2004, and you can download it
here.
New in v1.07:
- 2003/2004 Rosters, updated through April 17th, 2004
- 2004 Playoff Rosters
- 2004 Playoff Bracket replaces default Playoff Bracket
- A lot of player ratings and positions updated for better substitution patterns
- A lot of player ratings updated for better simulated and in-game performance
This probably won't be the last version of the NLSC roster update for the 2003/2004 season, as I'm sure there will be some lineup changes during the playoffs.

big thanks for your efforts, the update is really sweeeet
first thing I noticed is that raptors are not 91 anymore
did you lower jalen rose's stats a little? I think that's a very good idea because he's not very good this season (yeah I know he was injured)
the mavs are a little too strong at 96 in my opinion, whereas the wolves (at 81) may be a little weak (compared to toronto for example, who are 80 ovrl) - maybe cassell should improve a little - in my opinion he plays the best season of his carreer...
but that's just my two cents, all in all I must say I love the roster patch
is there a changelog of the player stats you tweaked since 1.06 or the original stats? if so, I'd really like to see it...
greets
kri

i guess you saved the best for last
absolutely best patch of the year
love all the ratings except like the mavs players too high
you should decrease all their defense ratings cus they admit thatthey wont even try playin d in the playoffs
that should correct their overall team rating
man guys like nowitzzki and nash, finle make like every shot
but goood patch though

hey Andrew, I'm wondering what the difference is between the NLSC rosters and the Final rosters? And which rosters should I use to begin a new dynasty?
Tue Apr 20, 2004 4:17 pm
Great job! I played a game of Knicks vs. Nets (my two fav teams, duh) and it felt very much like I had hoped. The offense ran through Kmart a lot, Kidd nailed open threes and RJ hit some very tough shots against me. For me Nazi was a a garbage man inside, Steph was Steph, Frank Williams was finally about where he should be, etc. Well done Andrew!

I've increased Cassell a little, but I guess he could stand to be increased a little more in some areas.

Unfortunately, no, I don't keep a log of the changes I make to the ratings.

Sure.

I decreased some offensive ratings in v1.07, I'll see what I can do about their defense in v1.08.

In this update, there is no difference. Both are final regular season rosters with playoff rosters for the 16 teams in the postseason. Through the course of the playoffs, I will update NLSC0304 while 0304FINAL will remain the same. You could use either for starting a new Dynasty (or even the opening night rosters, if you want to make your own trades).
Thanks for all the feedback, glad it's an improvement on the last.

I can not download it

Sometimes FilePlanet can be stubborn, returning a 404 error when the file is actually present, or redirecting users to the incorrect page. In my experience, sometimes it takes a couple of attempts for it to behave itself and redirect you to the correct download page.

great update andrew...i installed the game prior to exams but that's ok

. but where are the uninjured rosters???
and dunleavy played point at the end of the season for the Warriors, not JRich...no way can JRich play the point...we'd see 15 TO's from him

. BTW Pietrus should be mid-50's with great quickness/speed, agility, hops, and defense.

I didn't include the Uninjured rosters this time - I wasn't actually aware they were still all that popular.
My apologies for the error with the Warriors' lineup, I was unsure who was actually playing the point. I'll fix that up for v1.08.

i loved them
don't worry about it, that's what this thread is for
btw you should up jarvis hayes' FG rating to 75ish and 3pt to 65ish, he's a pure mid ranged shooter in every way. arenas should be 72ish for FG as well.

I wasn't aware Posey's rating was so low. I could have sworn I updated Boozer's Primacy. Something to do in v1.08.

No problem.

I thought I'd set Arenas to around 72 already. Oh well, easily fixed.

Hey I noticed Maurice Taylor had a range of 12-13 last time I checked. Did you change that? I think you should increase his range a little farther, because sometimes he will shoot deep 2's. I don't think you have to up the 3 point shooting, just use dbf editor to edit range. Same thing for Malone. He shoots way out too.

i would recommend 18 for both

When I played against the Nets (one game only so far), KMart and RJ did take most of the shots. It was awesome, like playing agains the real Nets.

In most cases I have adjusted the primacy. I can look at some specific examples, but I have already tried making adjustments this season. Sometimes adjusting the primacy isn't all that effective.
