CPU opponent too predictable on pick and roll?

As I mentioned in another post, I'm done with online play. Too many annoying things, yaddayaddayadda. So, I've been playing single-player vs. the computer with slightly tweaked sliders from Andrew. In this scenario, at least, using my Knicks, the pick and roll is murder. The CPU seems to trap the ball-handler every time. If you time it right, it's an easy dunk with high-frequency.

The thing is, you don't even need the PG to handle (i.e. super pass rating optional) or a big guy picking. Same-old thing every time. I'll pick-off the defender with another guard and the CPU will still trap instead of switch-off. Not that I mind, because I get a lot of easy buckets, but it would be more interesting if I could at least have the chance to get a mismatch.

I haven't gotten the "pick and pop" to work too easily though, as for whatever reason it is difficult to space the floor for mid-range J's from the big men (e.g. Kurt Thomas, who is making a living from this play in real life right now).

FYI, another cool play to run is to iso at the elbow, then off-ball to get a post-up for a big guard or small forward. Works very well with Tim Thomas or Allan Houston on the Knicks. It won't always lead to a score by the poster, but it often draws a double-team in a way that gives a badly spaced defense. It's tricky with the zone D, but again, if you time it right, it works, or the opponent gets a defensive 3-second call.
