FX5600 SE 256MB

Postby airbong on Wed Mar 03, 2004 10:03 pm

I just got this video card recently, after selling my ps2 :)
I went with 5600 because 5200 have 128 mb where this one has 256mb, is there much difference in playing LIVE2004?
I used to have PCI graphic card because my old computer didn't have AGP slot, but I just made computer few months ago, and gradually upgrading it. What's the best quality and performance that I can get out from this video card?
Pentium D 2.66 GHZ
80 HDD + 250 Ext. HDD
1 GHZ DDR3 RAM
GeForce 7900 GT

Too bad you didn't ask this question earlier or read earlier posts. This card isn't really the greatest and the 256MB isn't worth it. From what I read, the mid-range solution--the 9600XT--will perform much better. Assuming you got this just last week perhaps you can return it.

Your 100% right 9600XT is a much better card and probably cheaper as well. Nvidia know this which is why, they are releasing(probably out now) FX5900XD which will be about the same price as 9600XT (£150). Its core/mem clock speeds are not as high as FX5900 or the FX5950, but with some tweaking and overclocking you can easy get it up there. This is the card i suggest anybody gets at the moment for the price.
