How to create rosters

Fri Feb 13, 2004 12:23 am

I play a league with some friends. We're starting a new season and we'd like to create our own rosters, with just minor changes. How do you do it?
Is it possible from the game or do you need a special program?
tX for your help.

The most basic elements of updating/modifying rosters can be done in the game. Creating players, making trades and so forth is best done using the game's roster management features.

External editors can then be used to edit hidden attributes and ratings, and other data that is inaccessible from within the game.

What kind of update were you planning to make?

Just adjusting some attributes and making some trades.

Can we just copy/paste the save of the rosters or is it more complicated?

You mean distributing the roster?

That simply involves sharing the save folder containing the modified roster files. It will have to be copied to the same save slot on each PC though, else the information stored in save.dat will cause problems (ie the game will recognise two save slots as having identical numbers). I use a Windows Setup compiler for my roster update so that it is installed to the correct place, but if you're just going to distribute the roster to the people in your league, you might not want to go to that much trouble.
