problem with the Rockets dynasty

Postby d_seg on Sat Jan 24, 2004 10:19 pm

hey everyone.
I have a problem. I'm playing with the rockets in the dynasty mode, and i traded some players so I could get carmelo anthony, chris bosh and some other young stars.
i'm in the second season of the dynasty, and yao's, francis' and other's overall didn't improve at all. so i simualated the next season to see if melo and bosh get better, but they also weren't improve a bit.
i tried to give them some practices but it didn't work. maybe it because they need more minutes to play?

by the way, last season i won the championship after Francis was awarded as the MVP, most improved player, defensiv player, NBA first team and first defensiv team, Mo Taylor won the 6th man, Yao named the NBA first team and Jeff Van-Gundy took the coach of the year award.
my starting line-up was yao, eddie grifin, andrei kirilenko (after a trade with utah), mobely and francis. in the bench i had mo taylor, wesly person, moochi norris, zarko caparkapa, steven hunter, glen rice and some more...
this year, i couldn't stop trade players untill i got my dream team. take a look at this:
C- Yao
PF- Ben Wallace (!!!)
SF- Andrei Kirilenko
SG- Allen Iverson (!!!)
PG- Steve Francis
bench:
Steven Hunter (Center from the Magic. very good player)
Chris Bosh
Carmelo Anthony
Jason Richardson
Jay Williams
Tyshon Prince
Gordan Giricek

i'm playing in superstar level and 6 minutes per qaruter, i have a 40-1 record (after one lost to Golden-State, what a shame).

no of course not. i don't really remember wich players i traded for iverson.
i think i traded mobley , jim jackson and eddit griffin.
i got wallace after so many trades. first, i got stormile swift. then i traded wesly person and other average players to other teams, to get a better overall player. you can trade some average players for one good player and some player with 40- overall, release the poor quality players and sign free agents, who are usually have 50+ overall. that's the way you can get better players. in the end i traded what i got from the preveious trades with swift to the pistons and i got wallace.

after i simulated the second season, the bulls offered me to work for them for 10000 dyansty points (i didn't know that team can do that, that's very cool), but i think i'll stay with my dream team

But where is the challenge in trading for all superstars and than blowing out every opponent? If I were 40-1 in my dynasty I would have quit after the first 15 game winning streak ...

i agree with you, but you know, i just couldn't stop trading, untill i realized it's too much for one team.
that's why i have another dynasty with my favorite team, the magic.
beside, even with my dream team it's not so easy to win in the superstar level. it's happened a lot if i have to win by 1 or 2 points.

i see that nobody answered my question, so i'll ask it again.
how can i improve my young players? season after season they are staying with the same overall level, i don't know what to do.

yeah i have done that before in my live 2003 franchise i used the t-wolves and after some trades i had an unbeatable team:

c - garnett
pf - C Web
sf - Carter
sg - Pierce
pg - Baron Davis

but it was too easy so i don't do that shit anymore cause its too easy and boring i want challenges.

It all depends on their CAREERPKG. Some players do not have much potential for improvement.
