inserting a player in a saved season

Postby mmmchap on Sat Jan 24, 2004 2:06 pm

Hi guys, I really need your help on this one.

I have an NBA live League that will start this Feb 8. This league is composed of 12 teams only. I already save our league's SEASON File.

Here's the situation:

One of the league's team is Portland. Just this week, in the NBA, the Blazers traded mcginnis and Boumtje to Cleveland for Darius Miles.

Here's the Problem.
Is there a way, thru DBF editing where I can insert Darius miles in the saved season file? In the twelve teams of my league, Cleveland is not included so there's no way i can trade mcginnis and boumtje for darius miles using the game.

Please Help! I dont wanna just save a new season file since a lot of work has been done already (finalization of sched etc)

Thank You[/b]

I tried to edit the players.dbf

I changed mile's team number date to 29 (which is for free agents) and change rosterpos to 0 (since all free agents has this no.) then i went back to the game and got miles from the free agent pool. it worked...but i just wanna ask is this correct? would this cause the game to crash or not? should i chage other values in the dbf files? please help . thanks

I believe you also have to set his INSEASON value to True. I can't think of anything else offhand...but hopefully you've made a backup something goes completely wrong.

i got tried this edition before and i share some exp with you, firstly is you must backup your original dbf. use dbf commander to open 2 different players.dbf and add in the player you with will appear in your season to your season saved. the problem i faced before is the player data conflict. i solved this problem with editing the players you added in a free agent team (value is 29). and make sure the PLAYERID is unique (exp. 12xx). wish you can successfully edit~ sorry for poor english. :)
