Is there any way of preventing a player from retiring? (on PS2) I am the Knicks GM and after my first year Mutumbo retired.
Then i started another Dynasty with them and he has been playing for another 5 seasons.
Is it a random thing? can you prevent it or is there anywhere that warnes you they are going to retire?
Thanks in Advance
PS i am Damn happy about aquiring Starbury and Penny

Once a player is past the age of 35, there's a pretty good chance he'll retire if he's greatly declining. There's no real way to prevent it.

Ok but is there any way that you can find out during the season if your player is going to retire?
also is there a way to resign players mid season?

You can't do that at the beginning of the 1st season.

If you have a DBF editor, look for the item CAREERPKG and edit the letter to make it lower in value. A player who has 'F' in their CAREERPKG is most likely to retire, but if you change it to something lower, like E, he won't retire at the end of the season. The lower the value, the longer he stays. At least that's what happens when I edit that value. Try it out and see if it works.

There you can use a little trick - the 'save dynasty' feature...
save before last game commences.... then you can 'load' the game back if desired player retires...won't get him retired everytime...
