Too easy (sliders) when Run&Gun??!!

Postby Jou2maz on Tue Dec 30, 2003 11:51 pm

I've tried Andrew's and Ben's Sliders and they are both waaaaaaaay to easy :(.. Plus I don't think it looks like real basketball :S It's way to easy to get to the rim or pass to a open guy for the three.. This wouldn't be a problem if the computer would to the same. But it only jams the ball @PG until someone takes a "sarcastic-like-indaface-trey"... But of course AI must hit some of them (and hits like 5 in a row then starts missing again).. This makes the game very "runny" (meaning the game consists of the player making a gap and the computer cathing it and then player making run and computer cathing it.. ETC).. So you just cant lose :(.. damn.. I don't wanna buy a PS2 just because I want to play SEGA (ESPN whatever) 2k4 :(... It's a waste of money :/ (isnt gaming a waste of money? :P)...

Well I'll post my stats here so you can se what I'm talking about.. This is a very typical game for me; I won and full of runs...

Oh and I play 8mins Superstar using Ben's sliders (this one Ben's atleast)
I was Knicks obviously :)

turn all your scoring to '20' for cpu and user. that should be challenging enough and keep the rest of ben's sliders. Put your freestyle ability to about 15-20. Game speed to about 35-40. Fatigue effectiveness to 70-75.
see if that doesn't make it more challenging.

If that doesn't work, play with your eyes closed. That's a challenge for ya.

btw--nba basketball is a game of 'runs'. You should watch a real game once in awhile. Teams always come back in the NBA--except when the other team doesn't come out to play that night. I played a game where i lost in the final seconds, then the next game -I blew a team out by 18. i like how each game appears to be a little different. rememebr, this is the nba--maybe your looking for a more team oriented game like march madness.

try those sliders and tell me if it helped your experience.

if you are getting unrealistic scores slow the game down. i play on 12 mins quarters on all-star difficulty and score around 100 points per game.at the start of my franchise i scored arounds 140 points per game until i held the ball until the shot clock was at 12 then i would attack and score.

It could be a matter of your skill level. If you're an extremely good player, you're probably going to have blowouts.

I feel that both my sliders and Ben's sliders produce realistic results - I play using my sliders, and I've tried Ben's. All I can suggest is that you make further tweaks to suit your skill level and style of play.
