player improvement...

Postby boypula on Tue Dec 30, 2003 8:54 pm

what are the factors which influence player improvement?

will my players improve in the next season if i put them on my starting lineup or make them score in double digits every game (20+ ppg)?
in 2003, no matter what i do, player improvements are always determined at the start of a season, given you don't trade any of your players.

i signed/traded players which improved significantly from last season (ex. battier: overall +5). it would really suck if they will remain stagnant or degrade next season.

CAREERPKG (a value in players.dbf) is responsible for player development. Players with high career packages (A and B) have a much greater chance of developing. Players with an average career package (C and D) can still develop, but they probably won't get much better, and usually decline much earlier. Anything lower, and there's a very slim chance they'll get significantly better.
