i've been playing in season mode and i want to update my roster, is there an easy way to do it, i can't seem to figure it out using DB commander

I normally use Microsoft Access to edit my rosters. It works really nice and doesn't corrupt any of the databases. You can even make queries and forms to help you with the editing.

You can use this:

CDBF for Windows.
Version 1.20 shareware

The CDBF program is simultaneously a viewer and DBF-format files editor. In contrast to many similar programs, CDBF makes no distinction between viewing and editing modes - in both modes you are able to fulfil any actions with the database in use. All functions of the CDBF program
work in an order much faster than those of similar programs.

Or you can just use Microsoft Excel. Excel is probably the best way to go since you can sort the data by teams or whatever.

I don't recommend using MS Excel, as it's very easy to corrupt the DBF files. If you use Excel, be very careful and make sure you use backups.

Andrew are you referring to Excel 97? I am referring to Excel XP which doesn't corrupt DBF files. Office XP is rock solid.

Yes, I was referring to earlier versions of Excel. I wasn't aware the latest versions were suitable for working with DBF files. That's good news. :)
