How to score without a post scorer?

Postby - Ace - on Thu Dec 11, 2003 2:36 pm

How do you score in the half court with a team that has no legitimate low post scorer such as the Pistons? I was using the Pistons the other night and the only way I was scoring was pro hopping using RIP and Billups and get closer to the basket. The other way was to throw the ball down low to Campbell and have him score. I had Campbell score 30+ pts using 5 min quarters which is way too irrealistic bc in reality the Piston's don't really rely on Campbell to score. But if I try to score with the guards I'll have to over-rely on the prohop. I could sub in Okur but the Pistons don't go inside out for their half court offense.

I was successful to some extent using basket cut and passing to prince for mid range jumpers tho.

In real life, what offense plays do the Pistons run?

Any suggestions?

yeah ur right. pick and rolls. but i mastered my jump shots so about 80% of my shot go in when im open. i usually use campbell or even wallace to "fake" a post up then when a double team comes, i rotate to ball quickly to the open guy. or as you've said pro-hop your way in. ill be using the pistons for my dynasty.

i'm a celtics user
and ya... my 2nd leadin scorer is baker down the post
then i haf pierce postin up and all i do is hold the ball with him.. hold freestyle button.. therefore he faces the basket.. then i release button and release a fadeaway jumper or just jumper.. i don't get block and i hit my jumpers a lot.. my pierce usually shoot over 60% with all the dunks on breaks and sumtimes layups..
i'm sure hamilton can hit midrange.. i play superstar with my midrange/short/long range slider set at 40.. and sometimes i hit 6-7 jumpers in a row with defender.. soo i dunno.. seems easy to score
before i always posted up and dish out.. but i was playing with MJ in his prime and i was just runnin around then doing fadeaways and i was hitting almost half my shots.. soo i just started shooting fadeaways and it work.. you can try it with players like pierce/kobe/tmac

now i don't find it hard to score and i usually win my superstar games (6 mins ) by 15-30 points

Pass the ball fast, and get good flow and movement out of it, trust me it works, especially when facing a zone, just like real life, thats wot i do with my bucks chise, if nothin happens there i dump it into Randolph, let him go to work, or if double is drawn, then just dish it out and find the open guy, iget quite a few open jumpers rom good ball movement.
also look for the cutters, try play like ya do in a real game.

no i don't use cpu shot control
never did since da first time i played live 95
soo i'm not used to it
and sometimes around the rim.. i seem to get some shots off better with a quick release leanin shot so i won't get blocked
