How does Post-ip Quickplay work?

So suppose I call a "Quickplay", namely, the "Post-up". How does the game decide which player should post-up?

Consider the Knicks. They could have four guys on the floor at once, each who legitimately could post-up his opponent for a bucket (Thomas/Deke, Dice, Houston (big part of his game, guard or not), and Van Horn (don't laugh)). How the heck do I distinguish between them with the Quickplay? It would be cool if you could cycle through them by calling it more than once, but that, apparently, does not work.

BTW, I tried to search... the search feature is pretty lousy in this forum, so when searching for "post" and "up" I got mostly junk. So, if it's a repost, please be nice.

Normally when I call post up, it's usually either the PF or the C that moves into position. The one that moves to the post is normally whoever is on the same side of the floor as you are on. It seems a bit random at times which one actually goes there though, at least to me. It might be part of whatever offensive set you're running. But 9/10 times it's always PF and C, and not the other players.

I know in Live 2003 you could call post up twice and if the player you don't want to post up with moves there, another player will take his place. Not sure about Live 2004 though.

I had been hoping that at least there were post-up plays I could assign for each position to post-up, but it's not the case (I checked ALL the plays by name, at least). With the Knicks it seems like Mutombo almost always is the guy if the starters are in (including Dice), which, of course, makes little sense (sure, he gets touches down low, but not as many as the other guys).

When I use the Nets, at least 'Zo (still use him ) or Kmart are the guys getting the rock (Collins and Williams off the bench).

yeps its usually the PF or C, but what you do is you wait for the right moment to call your play, or better yet as i have observed when your big man is near the sidleine when you call the play, press it again and again until he try to cuts and get into position. also try pressing postup then pro hop it could free you some space when you get the ball down low

The post up calls to the player with the highest inside scoring rating. I also believe it choose *sometimes* the player with the miss match (high inside scoring vs. low defensive awareness). That why you can get B. Wells and P. Pierce in the post. Just my opinion though

I guess it's possible to do it with offball control? Still, that's awkward.
