How do you play online with a firewall using direct ip?

Postby BeanTownBrawler on Tue Dec 02, 2003 7:19 am

Me and a friend want to play each other, but we both have firewalls and when we go to the direct connect screen it says our ips are the ones in our home network, and we cant connect to each other. I forwarded the ports that it said to in the readme and it still doesnt work. How do I get it to work? :?:

Why not disable the firewall whilst playing?

Btw, this is a Technical Issues Topic.

If you read the last few pages of the NBA LIVE 2004 Install Guide, you will see how to play online with a firewall.

Usually if the IP shown is your home address, that means that you have a router. Do you have one?

I can't help you, but I think this isn't a problem with your firewall. I know enough to say that it's a problem with your router. I personally have a linksys router and I'm not so sure what to do, but I'm going to mess around.

Have you tried forwarding/opening the ports EA tells you to in their manual? even though that's for EAO, that might work.
