How do I completely control substitutions? Fatigue level?

Postby MaddenFreak on Fri Nov 28, 2003 3:33 am

There always used to be some sort of option under team strategy that allowed me to choose whether I wanted the computer or me to choose when I wanted to make substitutions. Is that still in the game?

I saw the player fatigue slider, but that just effects how much they get fatigued, right? I would assume that 50 for player fatigue would be correct. Do you guys agree?

Auto-sub slider to *zero*. I think that's what it's called. Fatigue seems to be modeled very well this year. If guys are working very hard in the post every trip, they get tired a lot faster. So if you control your subs, keep an eye on those big guys!

player fatigue, as in the 'fatigue effect' slider under the game settings?
if so, it controls how they perform when they get tired.
the higher it is, the more poorer they will do when they get tired.
the lesser it is, the more better they will do when they get tired.

Theres a pdf file on EAs site that explains some settings.

O.k, I've got the actual terms that I'm referring to. In the Global Sliders section, there is fatigue effect. This is what you guys are saying determines how the players perform when they get tired. Supposedly, the higher the number, the more fatigue effects their performance.

Second, in the "User Sliders" there is something called "User Substitution." Does this now take the place of the old in game option of Auto Subs on or off that they used to have? Meaning, if we put this on 0, does it only mean that the user controls all subs, or does it have any other effect like not having our players get tired. I wouldn't want to set it at 0 if my players were never tired. If I set it at 100, will that be too much substituting, or is that just meaning that it's a full 100% of a games substitutions are done for me? I wish they did a little better job of defining these things in the manual. And what is default for this? Should we have the CPU substitutions on 50?

Lastly, what does "User adjusted shot percentage" do? It already allows us to change the short, medium & long term percentages, so what would this one do?

Sorry for the long post, but I asked the question before without knowing all the exact terms I was referencing.

Its understandable, they didnt give you a CLEAR understanding as to what they all mean. they did expect you to use common sence, but you cant use it in these choices really.
i asked the same questions you did in fact i just made a post recently for the shoot range question lol.

you seem to got the understanding though.
autosubs yep, if its to 0 its manual, supposebly i guess the higher, the more they sub in. im experimenting to find that out now. im putting subs to 100 and seeing how much they sub. putting it to 0 i know they dont already, they barely do sub at 50 realisticly , so it has to go up deffinetly for more sub ins.

you have the restore defaults button on each menu to reset to defaults.

Im not touching the shootin range, and im getting good results on shooting.
Im workin on the DB Team file for the game and i think i found out how to set teams offense plays to 1 setting by default!
this means players will run there real plays you set them to that they do in real life. i see tremendous realistic play when i set them to the offensive plays they run in real life.

ima make a new post in a bit if its working right, i just need to be able to point out side triangle from box sets, motion sets, etc. by eye.

I think "adjusted shots" mean when your player receives contact from a defender while shooting

like when marv albert always go.. "NO GOOD, THERE WAS TOO MUCH CONTACT"
or "HE SAW THE DEFENDER COMING AND ADJUSTED IN MID AIR AND STILL GOT IT TO FALL"
those r like the "adjusted shot" i fink

yep.

Adjusted shots frequency is how much they adjust there shots ,
and percentage means how much of it will go in or not.
I believe so.

damn, think i confused the shootin range for the adjusted shots
