These songs are already tested ingame and work perfect. Not sure if you can just add them as extra songs but I just used them in place of songs I was tired of hearing. These files go in the audio\music folder of your main NBA Live directory. You need to rename the actual asf file to xsong#.asf with the number of the song being replaced being in place of the # sign. I don't see how this could be considered pirating music since I don't know of any way that you could reconvert these files back to mp3 or another playable format. These files only work in NBA Live 2004. Either way here are the files:

Fabolous - Throwbacks
Bow Wow & Fabolous - Basketball (bad file)
Outkast - I Like The Way You Move
Da Band - Bad Boy This Bad Boy That
Ludacris - Stand Up

LBM,

Do you know which songs correspond to which xsong file, or how I can find out?

Even if I legally own the cd's and its in a format that is only playable via the game and is not able to be transferred to cd or any other portable device? That I know of there are no converters that allow you to convert them from this format to wma, wav or mp3.

it also seems to me that posting jerseys should be illegal too since it is bearing copyrighted logo's and I doubt if you contact EA or the NBA each time you wanna post a pic of some jerseys you made or even a TNT logo to put on the scoreboard? As such these files are only to help make the game more enjoyable. I am not promoting piracy of any type and that is what I stated in my initial posting.

pictures aren't copyrighted, drawing copyrighted jerseys is not illegal. posting unauthorized COMMERCIAL music publicly online is. pictures used in jersey patches are NOT copyrighted (promo material usually isn't). there is a reason why not a single legal music website posts full commercial songs - only 30sec clips - because it would be otherwise ILLEGAL. email the RIAA (riaa.org) and you'll see what they tell you... they'd hang you by the nuts on a christmas tree and leave you for the jackals to molest.

it doesn't matter if you can't convert the .asf format to any other portable listenable format, you still can listen to it through the game - without paying for it (which is, by RIAA standards, illegal).

for personal use, it's okay to use other songs in your game... posting them publicly online... it isn't. save yourself the bandwidth and trouble, and just post the ditty importer... leave the illegalities to it's users.

i completely agree with Tony.

i suggest that only instructions on how to replace music files in NBA Live be posted online. not the songs themselves.

Quite the opposite actually, in fact even what im writing now is protected by copyright. Its called intellectual property, which is why movie stars cant sue magazines for using pics (because the photograper owns them), only if they are pictures that can disgrace them or cause loss of work ect.
By definition - defamation of character.

All valid points however about not posting files :) .
p.s. i dont want to sound like an ass, but i have dealt with copyright issues in the past.
